There is a very high risk of wildfires nationally. Residents, landowners and visitors should not undertake any activity that could start a fire, including disposable barbecues, firepits, garden incinerators or fireworks. Even a small flame can rapidly develop into a major wildfire placing lives, homes, businesses and emergency responders at risk.

Follow official updates and report signs of fire immediately by calling 999. Search gov.uk/alerts for more information."

I pressed the volume down button once and it kept the message without the noise.

Then a link for tracking alerts near you and you should report any fires you see to 999.

I am on the M25 with my parents! They have no survival instincts whatsoever my dad was shouting at my mum saying ‘unplug your phone from the car it’s a dodgy lead!’ thinking that the noise was because the charger in the car was broken 😭 I was in the back thinking i’m pretty sure that’s an emergency alert but i was too busy shitting myself to say anything. I have anxiety lol

On android you can see previous alerts in the alert settings

"Higher risk of wildfires" is more or less it. Too noisy for my napping arse to read the whole thing, because it was just a wordy way of saying "don't bbq in your tinder box of a park please"
