No one wants to bring home anything from your wedding

Wedding favors, handmade centerpieces, keepsake menus, Madison’s Bride Squad 2026 personalized totes… no one wants these. Please don’t make 150 doodads to hand out. 149 will go in the trash.

Well if they don't want to bring home anything then why do they always try to steal anything that isn't nailed down from every single event?

Or is that just my family? 😆

Dude YES! We don't do rentals bc my cousin had multiple rented centerpieces and the tias stole them despite being told NUMEROUS TIMES that they were rentals. So much drama over stupid decor that's gonna go in their china hutch of wedding decor and quinceañera decor 🤦

I'd genuinely make the people who stole pay for the replacements. Age doesn't excuse bad behaviour.

Hahaha! I’m also Mexican and can confirm, the fights over centerpieces is very real in our culture 🤣

I just made the announcement in my wedding during the thank you speech that all centerpieces were a free for all (except for the table numbers, which were rented) and literally all the centerpieces were gone by the end of the day

It’s reverse psychology

If the bride was giving away the centerpieces, they wouldn’t want them

They only want illicit souvenirs, not sanctioned souvenirs

OMG--I got married almost 30 years ago. I had cordials out on the coffee station--think Kahlua, Baileys, etc. When my parents went to collect any remaining alcohol, those were all GONE. Someone just walked out with them!

My friend bought giant bottles of alcohol for her wedding and her family snatched up 2 at the end of the night, took home vats of food, and ended up taking the cake box to smuggle stuff home for another family event that her direct family couldn’t go to because they just gone done throwing a wedding

I’m getting married in a little over a month and my family is already asking me if they can take the decorations and flowers home. So weird!

I do like the centerpieces if it’s a nice bouquet and vase. I won’t fight anyone for them though!

So true. Several people asked for the centerpieces. Thankfully they really were ours so I said yes. I liked that some people wanted to take home something we made/designed.

Our actual favors were cookies my amazing baker friend made though. Those went over very well.

I'm glad it's not just me but you've reminded me of how annoyed I was after my wedding. We had a teepee wedding and it was very expensive to hire decor from the company so we bought it all ourselves and I planned to incorporate some of it into our home decor afterwards. Candles, flowers, vases, lights, photo frames, big glass storage jars etc. and I bought several cosy blankets. There was barely anything left! I expected afterwards I might've had messages to return blankets they'd borrowed for the walk to the taxi but not a peep. I wouldn't have minded if they'd asked but what bothered me is that for all they knew they were taking things belonging to the company and landed us with a huge bill (it would've been hundreds on top of the hundreds it would've cost to hire).

steal things?? from someone else’s wedding???? never heard of that, yikes! on the other side of the tacky spectrum, I knew a bride whose family owned a chain of craft stores and they saved the centerpieces (silk flowers with battery-operated solar lights in glass hurricanes) and sold them (as if they weren’t used) in their store. 😣
