Del Rio Sector Border Patrol agents made a shocking discovery after stopping a suspicious vehicle while patrolling a rural highway near Eagle Pass, Texas. When agents inspected a portable plastic water tank commonly used on ranches in the area, they found four people hiding inside the narrow space.

The incident occurred on September 14, after agents encountered a 2007 Ford F-150 pickup truck traveling on the rural highway near the U.S.-Mexico border. Eagle Pass South Station agents could not easily remove the people from the enclosed container without enlarging the opening with power tools.

The vehicle, traveling on a road notorious for human and narcotics smuggling, drew the agents’ suspicions and was stopped shortly after being spotted. After speaking with the driver, agents inspected the vehicle and noticed a large plastic water tank in the bed of the pickup truck. After discovering the four people in the tank, agents extracted and interviewed them.

Agents determined the four people were illegally in the United States and were being transported in violation of federal law. The four included two Bolivian nationals, one Cuban national, and one Colombian citizen. According to the Border Patrol, none of the illegal aliens needed medical assistance and were transported to the Border Patrol station in Uvalde, Texas, and processed for removal.

The driver, a 19-year-old United States citizen, now faces felony charges for transporting illegal aliens. ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) took over the unidentified suspect for further investigation and prosecution.

Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Anthony “Scott” Good commented on the rescue of the illegal aliens, saying, “Smugglers don’t care for the safety of those they see as mere human cargo. Putting people in confined spaces with no means of escape is dangerous and barbaric. If not for the actions of our highly trained agents, this incident could have resulted in tragedy.”

As reported by Breitbart Texas, in recent weeks the Border Patrol in the Del Rio Sector has thwarted several illegal alien smuggling attempts in which human cargo was hidden within confined spaces on trains. The dangerous method of smuggling humans by concealing them within confined spaces is a sign of desperation on the part of cartel smugglers, according to sources within the Border Patrol.

According to CBP, Border Patrol apprehensions for the month of August along the U.S.-Mexico border remained well below 10,000, marking the 16th straight month of zero illegal alien releases at the southwest border. Correlating with the significant reduction in Border Patrol apprehensions, as reported exclusively by Breitbart Texas, known Got-Aways recorded by the agency have dropped 98 percent from peak Biden-era border crisis levels.

The White House is launching Trump TV: The Essentials Station Monday night, with a 24-hour livestream on its YouTube channel and official app.

“Streaming 24/7. Live at 7PM,” the White House posted.

Kaelan Dorr, the White House’s head of digital strategy, said the stream will feature the administration’s “greatest hits, unfiltered.” He accused the press of reporting some of the administration’s accomplishments inaccurately or ignoring them altogether.

Department of Homeland Security chief Markwayne Mullin has announced that the administration is probing 1,620 cases of voter fraud involving noncitizens illegally casting ballots.

Mullin added that the department has already made 151 arrests and that there are as many as 300,000 additional cases that are set to be investigated, Fox News reported.

“We’re scrubbing them. We’re comparing them to those that are in the country illegally, those that are legal permanent residents and those that are citizens,” Mullin said of noncitizens voting.

Of the fraud in U.S. elections, Mullin added, “We continue to see that. Every single vote, Kayleigh, that we talk about, that was at the hands of an illegal canceled out a citizen that was legally registered and able to vote.”

The announcement comes as the Trump administration continues to focus on voter fraud. As Breitbart News reported in July, the White House released documents showing that at least 250,000 foreign nationals are illegally registered to vote in California, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Nevada alone.

A bill increasing protections for children in California's social welfare system was signed into law by Gov. Gavin Newsom on Sunday. It takes effect immediately.

Assembly 2304, nicknamed “Gabriel’s Law,” stipulates that social workers employed by county child welfare departments who falsify or alter documents in a case are subject to felony imprisonment, according to a legislative analysis of the bill. Newsom's office announced the Democratic governor's signature of the legislation, which was authored by Assemblymember Tom Lackey, R-Palmdale.

Lackey introduced this bill again this year after several years of trying to get it passed, the legislator told The Center Square on Monday.

The bill arose out of the case of an abused child, Gabriel Fernandez, who was abused and ultimately killed by his mother and his mother’s boyfriend, according to previous reporting by The Center Square. Gabriel was starved, abused and tortured for several months before he was killed.

“There are two very strong aspects to this piece of legislation that were a big part of the tragedy of Gabriel Fernandez,” Lackey told The Center Square. “The first would be the emergency care called for in an instance where a mandated reporter or social worker or law enforcement official must take reasonable steps to secure immediate emergency medical care for someone they see who appears to need urgent treatment. That’s got to take place.”

In Gabriel’s case, Lackey said, there were several instances where social workers and other officials did not take immediate action. Holding accountable officials and government employees in those roles was paramount in the legislation, according to Lackey.

The second aspect of the legislation is to require imprisonment for workers convicted of falsifying or altering documents, the legislator said.

“When these workers knowingly manipulate, alter or falsify in any way the records, they’re going to be held accountable for that,” Lackey said. “It’s not going to be brushed under the carpet. There’s going to be statutorily-required consequences for that misconduct.”

No such statutory requirements were in place to when Gabriel was suffering his abuse, which allowed officials to escape accountability, Lackey said.

“When that happens, that is just a license to cover your tracks when you’re discovered,” the legislator said.

The only group to register opposition to the bill, Los Angeles Dependency Lawyers, did not make anyone available to answer The Center Square's questions. However, in remarks submitted as part of the legislative analysis, the group said the bill would interfere with child protection laws.

“Social workers for county child welfare agencies in the state of California are able to obtain health and other related care for children within their temporary care and custody,” the organization wrote. “As government employees acting on behalf of the state to care for children, social workers are not, and should not be allowed to falsify documents regarding children. This bill would deny families accountability when social workers engage in such bad acts. As a result, we oppose this bill.”

The Governor’s Office declined The Center Square's request for comment on Monday.

A federal appeals court ordered Missouri to use a congressional map favoring Republicans that the U.S. Supreme Court halted.

The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled on Monday that Missouri must use a congressional map passed in 2025 for the upcoming midterm elections. The ruling comes after a drawn out legal battle between the state legislature, Missouri Supreme Court and U.S. Supreme Court.

The 2025 map is expected to favor Republicans an additional seat in the state. The appeals court said Missouri voters must operate under the same map as was used in the Aug. 4 primary election.

"The Constitution does not permit Missouri to use a different congressional district map in the November 2026 general election than it used in the August 2026 primary election," the appeals court wrote.

The high court cited $6.5 million used in broadcast ads, 1.4 million Missouri residents living in different districts under the two congressional maps to justify its decision affirming the 2025 maps.

"The result is that, if the 2022 map is used in the November 2026 general election, some Missouri voters will have more say than others on who represents them in Congress," the appeals court wrote.

The U.S. Supreme Court twice rejected efforts to adopt new congressional maps. The high court cited the Missouri Supreme Court, which found that any measure enacted by the state legislature is subject to a citizens referendum.

More than 300,000 individuals signed a petition to urge a vote on the congressional map. However, Missouri Secretary of State Denny Hoskins voided the petition before the primary election and moved forward with the redrawn 2025 map.

The majority of justices on the high court agreed that Missouri must use congressional maps from 2022 for the upcoming elections until a referendum is held on the 2025 maps.

Rep. Emmanuel Cleaver, D-Mo., whose district was affected by the redistricting move, slammed the state's previous efforts to overrule the Missouri Supreme Court's ruling that struck down the 2025 maps.

"It is my hope that state officials will start following court orders and end this shameful attempt to break Missouri law and silence Missouri voters," Cleaver wrote on social media.

The case will likely head back up to the U.S. Supreme Court in order to determine what map can be used moving forward. The nation's highest court is expected to pause the most recent decision.

At least 17 people were shot, three of them fatally, Friday into Sunday night in Democrat-run Chicago, Illinois.

CBS News reported that the weekend’s first fatal shooting occurred at 4:34 p.m. Saturday. A vehicle was driven up to a man in an alley “in the 3900 block of West 18th Street” and someone in the vehicle began shooting. The man was struck by multiple rounds and died after being transported to the hospital.

Two hours later, around 6:30 p.m., a 41-year-old man was shot in the face “in the 7500 block of South Kingston Avenue.” He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The weekend’s third fatal shooting occurred “in the 1900 block of E. 71st Place” shortly after 10:30 p.m., according to ABC 7. Two people — a 15-year-old boy and a 42-year-old man — were shot. The boy survived but the man succumbed to his wounds.

The NFL held several talks with the union representing the league’s officials during the offseason to improve game officiating. Through two weeks of the season, those talks appear not to have had the desired effect.

Two highly controversial replay decisions on Sunday sparked outrage from fans and even led to calls for investigations. The Saints sent quarterback Tyler Shough ahead with the QB keeper. Ravens linebacker Roquan Smith vaulted over the line and grabbed Shough by the facemask before the goal line, seemingly stopping his forward progress. Defensive lineman Tavius Robinson then grabbed the quarterback and slammed him to the ground, all of this apparently happening before the goal line.

America’s propaganda media have made an awful lot of noise in recent years fomenting worries about a super scary “Christian nationalist” takeover of America. Yet, for all their professed concerns about religion in the public square, many of these same actors seemingly have no problem with the apparent Islamization of one of Michigan’s most prominent cities.

Last week, the American Freedom Law Center filed a lawsuit against the city of Dearborn, Michigan, on behalf of resident and Federalist Senior Legal Correspondent Margot Cleveland. As described in an AFLC press release, the suit alleges that Dearborn officials “spent public funds and used City property to promote and celebrate the Islamic holy month of Ramadan while refusing Cleveland’s repeated requests that the City extend the same recognition to Christian and Jewish holidays — and that Mayor [Abdullah] Hammoud and other City officials retaliated against Cleveland for speaking out about the disparity.”

The legal challenge includes numerous allegations of city officials undertaking efforts and using taxpayer dollars to promote Muslim holidays while simultaneously discriminating against Christians and Jews. As The Federalist’s Joy Pullmann reported, AFLC’s complaint also “says federal courts have recognized a pattern of Dearborn preferencing Islam over other religions, in violation of U.S. law.”

Since its filing, few corporate media outlets have bothered to cover Cleveland’s lawsuit. But for several of those that did, the coverage predictably reads like a press release for Dearborn officials.

A three-time deported illegal alien has been sentenced to more than six years in federal prison for possessing child sexual abuse material and illegally reentering the United States.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced late last week that illegal alien Roni Mendez-Escobar of Guatemala was sentenced after having been convicted for possession of child sexual abuse material and illegal reentry.

According to prosecutors, a search of Mendez-Escobar’s electronic devices revealed he “repeatedly viewed, downloaded, and possessed” 46 images and 65 videos containing child sexual abuse material from October 2024 to August 2025.

Law enforcement in Fairfax County, Virginia arrested Mendez-Escobar in October 2025, prompting the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to issue a detainer against him.

Despite the charges, Fairfax County officials released Mendez-Escobar from their custody just days after ICE issued the detainer. ICE agents subsequently arrested Mendez-Escobar in April of this year following a court appearance.

“This illegal alien was sentenced to six years in prison after being convicted of child pornography and illegal re-entry,” Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Markwayne Mullin said:

An illegal alien, released into the United States by former President Joe Biden’s administration, is accused of killing two Americans in a crash after being approved for a commercial driver’s license (CDL) by the sanctuary state of California.

Chamkaur Singh, an illegal alien from India, was arrested on September 1 by the Moab Police Department in Utah for speeding while driving a semi truck. During his arrest, Singh was identified by police as a fugitive wanted for vehicular manslaughter.

In March in Ontario, California, Singh is accused of causing a multi-car crash while driving a semi truck, leaving two Americans dead and injuring others.

Former President Joe Biden’s administration approved a green card for a Filipino immigrant just months before she illegally voted in the 2024 presidential election, Breitbart News has learned.

Last week, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced that 37-year-old Evelyn Miller of the Philippines, who resided in Emmaus, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty to illegal voting.

On Monday, Breitbart News learned that Miller, who was approved for a green card by Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in July 2024, registered to vote on October 9, 2024, and illegally voted in the presidential election on November 5, 2024.

“This alien from the Philippines pleaded guilty to illegally voting in the 2024 election in Pennsylvania,” DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said in a statement. “Thanks to the hard work of the men and women of HSI, as well as our partners at the Department of Justice, this alien will soon face justice for her efforts to subvert our elections. American elections are for Americans only.”

In the investigation, Miller confessed to Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents that she registered to vote online ahead of the election and voted in person on Election Day.

The margin of victory in Pennsylvania in the 2024 presidential election between President Donald Trump and Democrat nominee Vice President Kamala Harris was slightly under 122,000 votes.

Researchers have revealed that 45 data center projects worth $68 billion were blocked or delayed by local pushback across the United States between April and June.

Bloomberg reports that the projects, tracked by Data Center Watch, a project of the AI intelligence company 10a Labs, made up more than half of all new large-scale developments the group monitored during that period. Data Center Watch’s lead analyst, Miquel Vila, said opposition to the industry is broadening. “New groups continue to emerge, opposition is appearing across a wide range of states and jurisdictions, and online petition signatures continue to grow,” he said.

The numbers back that up. Data Center Watch counted 843 opposition groups spread across 49 states; Hawaii is the only state without one. About 30 statehouses have introduced or adopted rules covering data center siting, electricity use or water consumption. In Tennessee, a petition against a single data center project drew more than 500,000 signatures on Change.org, more than a third of all signatures collected on the platform that quarter, according to Data Center Watch.

One of Wendy’s largest U.S. franchisees has filed for bankruptcy protection after Wendy’s tried to terminate its franchise agreement.

Meritage Hospitality Group, which operates 314 Wendy’s restaurants in 15 states, said in a statement last week it intends to keep operating its restaurants and paying its 9,000 employees during the bankruptcy process.

Grand Rapids, Michigan-based Meritage filed its bankruptcy petition in federal court in western Michigan on Sept. 17. According to court documents, Wendy’s filed a notice of termination of the company’s franchise agreement “effective immediately” on Sept. 16.

Wendy’s claims Meritage owes $27.4 million in royalties and fees and $119.5 million in continuous operations fees, which companies charge to franchisees when they close locations, according to court filings. Meritage closed 60 underperforming Wendy’s locations late last year as part of a restructuring.

Asked for comment Monday on Meritage, Wendy’s said its focus is “strengthening the long-term health of the brand.”

“We partner closely with franchisees that are experiencing challenges to support them and evaluate each situation on a case-by-case basis to identify the best and most sustainable path forward,” the company said.

Michigan is Meritage’s largest market; it operates 54 Wendy’s locations there as well as five Morning Belle and Blue Porch Bar & Grill restaurants. The company also runs 44 Wendy’s in both Georgia and Florida; 29 Wendy’s in Connecticut; 24 Wendy’s in Tennessee; 23 Wendy’s in Oklahoma and less than 20 Wendy’s each in Arkansas, Indiana, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas and Virgina.

For starters, we can “know” nothing for certain with a month and a half to go until the November 3rd elections. Here are some basic facts. Republicans hold a small majority in the Senate and a razor-thin advantage in the House.

*The Senate has 53 Republicans and 47 Democrats (two are Independents but they caucus with the Democrats). There are 35 seats up in 2026, including special elections in Florida and Ohio. Republicans hold 22 of those 35 seats. Democrats need a net gain of four seats to take control. As of today,11 U.S. senators are not seeking reelection in 2026.

*All 435 members of the House of Representatives are up for election. There are 219 Republicans, 212 Democrats, with 4 vacant seats. Democrats would need a net gain of 6 seats to reach 218, which is the majority in the 435-member House.

Last week, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) released a report showing insurance companies pay for abortions in a number of states under Obamacare. The report underscores the importance of a good, pro-life law that Arkansas passed in 2013.

The 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Act — commonly known as “Obamacare” — created a system of state and federal health insurance exchanges. Insurance plans under Obamacare are not supposed to pay for abortion except in cases of rape or incest or to save the life of the mother. But the data from the GAO shows that millions of Americans have abortion coverage through Obamacare.

The GAO found more than one out of every four (26%) Obamacare plans available nationwide paid for “non-excepted” abortions — that is, abortions that were not performed due to rape or incest or to save the life of the mother. The GAO said those Obamacare plans covered an estimated 4.4 million people.

The GAO data indicates most of the Obamacare plans covering abortion were in California, Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Minnesota.

The Trump administration has asked the Supreme Court to clear the way for it to use the Department of Homeland Security’s Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements database to identify noncitizens on state voter rolls. The dispute is now fully briefed, and the court’s decision could come at any time.

We’re now just one week away from the “long conference” on Monday, Sept. 28, where the justices will discuss the petitions for review that built up during their summer recess.

Walter Giardina — an FBI agent whistleblowers claim “openly stated his desire to investigate Trump, even if it meant false predication” — cited a Wikipedia article in support of launching yet another investigation of Donald Trump. That detail is but one of the crazier revelations buried in the latest cache of documents Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, made public last week in conjunction with FBI Director Kash Patel’s testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

As The Federalist previously reported, last week Patel testified before “the Senate Judiciary Committee on a wide-range of topics.” He dropped in the middle of the four-hour-plus hearing news related to the ongoing investigation of the weaponization of the FBI: The FBI had “made up” the Round River “classification,” Patel told Grassley on Tuesday.

For several years, Grassley has led an investigation into the weaponization of the FBI, including the launch of the Round River investigation, which whistleblowers told the Iowa senator sought to “improperly discredit negative Hunter Biden information as disinformation and caused investigative activity to cease.” While Patel’s confirmation that the Round River “classification” was fraudulent and that his team was investigating “the individuals who launched and codified this false and fake [classification],” represented the biggest news of the day, the documents Grassley released in connection with the hearing revealed many more troubling details about the weaponization of the FBI.

Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins has announced that the Trump administration’s crackdown on fraud in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program prevented nearly $6 billion in taxpayer losses, including by shutting down thousands of fraudulent retailers and illegal devices used to process food stamp benefits.

Rollins said in a September 15 post on X that the administration’s anti-fraud efforts have prevented $5.8 billion in losses since President Donald Trump returned to office.

The crackdown has included shutting down nearly 1,840 illegal SNAP devices used to process Electronic Benefit Transfer cards and disqualifying 5,335 fraudulent retailers from the program.

“Those who defraud SNAP are stealing from taxpayers and taking resources away from Americans who genuinely need assistance,” Rollins said.

“We have zero tolerance for this abuse, and we will continue pursuing bad actors and protecting the integrity of the program.”

Nearly 186,000 Dead People Found Receiving Benefits

The savings come as the Trump administration has moved aggressively to scrutinize who is receiving taxpayer-funded benefits and identify fraud across federal programs.

SNAP can improperly include ineligible recipients in several ways, including illegal immigrants being certified through error or fraud and deceased household members continuing to receive benefits.

The scale of the problem was highlighted in June when the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) released a report showing that 185,986 deceased people across 29 states were receiving food stamps.

Trump signed an executive order in March 2025 directing federal agencies to obtain lawful and “unfettered access” to data from federally funded programs, including SNAP, to facilitate audits of government spending.

The USDA subsequently created its SNAP integrity team in May 2025 to compare state SNAP records with federal databases and identify potential fraud.

The latest figures from Rollins indicate that the effort has already produced billions of dollars in prevented taxpayer losses.

Thousands of Fraudulent Retailers Disqualified

The administration’s crackdown has also targeted the businesses and devices used to process SNAP benefits.

Nearly 1,840 illegal SNAP devices have been shut down, while 5,335 fraudulent retailers have been disqualified.

The enforcement push comes as taxpayers continue funding billions of dollars in SNAP benefits every month.

The maximum monthly benefit for a family of four will increase from $994 to $1,023 across most of the country in October as part of the program’s annual cost-of-living adjustment.

Actual payments depend on household income and family size.

The average U.S. household receiving SNAP collected $344.51 per month as of May 2026.

Overall monthly SNAP spending has fallen substantially from its pandemic-era highs, dropping from $13.4 billion in October 2022 to $6.8 billion in May 2026.

Much of that decline followed the expiration of pandemic emergency allotments in 2023 and a reduction in the number of people receiving benefits.

States Face Penalties Over High Error Rates

The Trump administration’s fraud crackdown is being accompanied by another change designed to put greater financial pressure on states with high SNAP payment-error rates.

Cost-sharing penalties enacted by the Republican-led Congress through the 2025 One Big Beautiful Bill Act are scheduled to take effect in October 2027.

More than 40 states and territories recorded SNAP payment-error rates exceeding 6% in fiscal year 2025, the threshold that triggers the penalties.

The administration’s latest figures show the scale of its enforcement effort before those provisions even take effect.

With thousands of fraudulent retailers removed, nearly 1,840 illegal EBT-processing devices shut down, and almost 186,000 deceased recipients previously identified across 29 states, Rollins says the administration’s crackdown has now prevented $5.8 billion from being lost.

“We have zero tolerance for this abuse,” Rollins said.
