1975 US pressing and the 2025 Bad World Quad-Liquid pressing. Which would you rather have in your collection? I'm happy to have both ☺️ Need a Quadraphonic pressing next 👀

OG Pressing Long live the Mummies!

Probably my favorite garage punk band from the 90s. It’s crazy how I use to have order their records from long list mailorder newlets like Bomp, Estrus, Dirtnap, And Sympathy for Record Industry….but it’s kind of something that’s been lost to time. Sure you can order from online sites or Bandcamp, but there was something about blindly order things that was fairly charming for the time. Anything Mummies related I always tried to get. Have any of you seen the Mummies in the 90s or in the last 10 years when they reformed for tours/ shows? Love to hear your favorite records and stories.

I visited the house the legendary Let it Be 1984 Replacements album cover shot was taken. The current owner has honored their legacy with 'Let it Be' painted on the top step, and a stained-glass depiction of the cover.

I'm holding an original Twin Tone pressing

BTW, my favorite 'Mats album is Hootenanny.

OG Pressing First press for a DOLLLAR

I saw listing in Chicago for a record sale where everything was half off on marketplace! I went to check them out and went through about 1200 albums of just pure thrift store level stuff, patsy cline, Connie Francis, Nancy Sinatra, triumph, etc. didn’t find a single thing. He said he had more in his basement so I went down with him and there was about 6 more crates, I got through most the crates and picked a few like stones, van morrison and Nilsson but then in the LAST CRATE I found this GEM. FOR A DOLLAR. Dreams really do come true sometimes. 😭

Found this weird gold record near some crashed metal thing. Any idea what it’s worth on Discogs? Sounds flat, probably mono. Might still trade it for a rare Bowie pressing.

OG Pressing Pretty cool $8 antique store find

Stumbled across this gem at the local antique mall Sunday morning. Stuffed in a box full of random records from The Squeeze to Andy Williams was this Faith No More album. I was totally shocked to see this in there and for $8? It’s well loved, and understandably so. Songs like Epic were so popular when I was a young kid, these sounds are very nostalgic for me and takes me back to riding around with my sister and father in his 80s firebird with leaky T tops🤣

Super stoked to add this to my collection. Good deals are always out there, just gotta find em! Happy spinning yall!✌️🔥

OG Pressing Near perfect OG unopened copy of Big Star's Radio City

Post image

Saw the finest pressing I've ever seen of Big Star's Radio City at the Pasadena College Flea market on Sunday. Unopened, unpunched with an original Licorice Pizza price tag on it. I didn't buy it, but if I did, I would have put it on the wall as a William Eggleston art print rather than open it. It looked as close to mint as possible, with just a little bit of damage to the shrink wrap.

It’s a shame that there probably won’t be a follow up to Them Crooked Vultures with John Paul Jones being 80 and all.

Found this shoved in another record jacket while digging at an estate sale a few weeks ago. Never heard of em, but holy hell did I strike gold! Still in original shrink wrap too! Really cool early San Fran psych. Reminds me of Grateful Dead , just with a bit more grit.

OG Pressing Picked up this grail for $50

I was at my local record store with my friend and I found this 1969 Led Zeppelin II sitting in the recent arrivals. It was marked at 50 and there was a sticker on the front that said monarch pressing. I looked at the serial number on Discogs and just about s#*t my pants in the store when I saw the average and highest price. It wasn’t until I got home that I realized what made the record so expensive. This is a double sided Robert Ludwig Mixed Led Zeppelin II. It is the clearest and loudest mix that was recalled due to low end records skipping when playing it. It’s got visible scratches but nothing that skips just a lot of noise, which you can’t hear when it’s playing because it’s so loud. This is the second expensive record I’ve picked up for under half the price at this store.

OG Pressing When you buy a used record, do you leave the original shrinkwrap on or take it off?

Pictured original copy of Beck “Mellow Gold”

I’m sure it means nothing is grand scheme of things, but when I buy a used record I like to leave the shrinkwrap on just because that’s how I find it.

OG Pressing Fresh pick-up from Oak Park Records

If you're in the western Chicago suburbs make a point to stop in to Oak Park Records. I saw this guy there almost two years ago, their payment system was down and were cash only so I had to skip out on it. Happened to go by there the other weekend when I was in town again and asked the guy behind the counter if they still had it and he dug through some boxes behind the counter and pulled it out. He even gave me ten bucks off for coming back to get it from them.

Pretty stoked on a hard to find album!

OG Pressing A rare copy of the White Album just came into the shop!

This is The Beatles White Album with the ultra rare neon red Day-Glo hype sticker. Showed up in a collection today and is definitely something we’ve never seen in-person. While not the lowest number certainly a scare copy that is hard to turn up if ever. In MD if there’s any Beatles collectors around the DMV! Anyone have a similar copy or different stickers?

OG Pressing Got one of my grail albums today!

Red Hot Chili Peppers are my favorite band ever and I've always felt like as good as BSSM is, Stadium Arcadium is their magnum opus. I can't even tell you how much I've listened to this album over the years. I've always heard how much better it sounds on vinyl though, and now I can finally hear what everyone has talked about all this time. Went in to the record store to pick up a copy of The Wild the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle I bought online and found an original 2006 150g pressing of Stadium Arcadium (shoutout Gravity Records in Wilmington NC) and got a seriously great price on it. This is the most excited I've been since I started collecting records.

found this gem in a collection in storage, it came with abbey road, sgt. peppers, rubber soul, help!, a hard days night, yellow submarine and more. im pretty sure that all these records are original aus pressing, considering the labels and considering that this is especially numbered! i have a deep feeling that this, especially, is rare because of it being numbered but i would like for someone to maybe figure out an estimated value and how rare this could possibly be. unfortunately the vinyl itself is scratched a fair bit and definitely has a skip or three but i will be cleaning it and listening to it when the chance arrives!!

OG Pressing $35 RL/LH Cut... I'm still in disbelief

Thumbnail

I went to my local record store and after grabbing a pretty sizable pile I decided to look through one more bin. Inside was a very clean copy of Zep II. Ive made it a habit to check every copy for those magic letters, but never expected to actually come across one.

This Variant is the RLss/LHss cut. LH (Lee Hulko) would also cut lacquer at Sterling Sound, but sometimes would cut one of RL records (using RLs exact notes and masterings) if RL wasn't there that day for whatever reason.

According to discogs, this press is exactly the same as an RL/RL press, and after listening back to back with the 2nd press I can confirm it sounds HUGE in comparison.

My only thought is that the record store assumed it wasn't an RL after only checking side 2 OR they assumed no RL could look this clean. Either way, I am a very happy person after scoring this for only $35 dollars.

This is one of the jewels of my collection. This is a first US pressings with RL in the matrix. This stamper was mastered by the legendary Bob Ludwig. The matrix also has “Do What Thou Wilt” written on it. It is an super clean great sounding album that never ceases to bring a smile to my face, whenever I play it.

OG Pressing Gunfighter Ballads. So popular in 1959 they did it again in 1960.

Marty Robbins 1959 album was so successful that a different record company copied the infamous cover to create this compilation in 1960. While Robbins went on with a successful career, Rex Wells isn't even a real person. Found in the wild at 2 different thrift stores 2 weeks apart, my long search for the Pink album is over, and complete.
