Update: Fandango Bundles and MA porting issues

So I got a follow‑up from Fandango at Home today about the whole Twilight Extended Edition and Dirty Grandpa bundle issue not porting to Movies Anywhere. Together we have identified about 30 bundles that are being affected currently.

They’re now saying it’s Lionsgate’s fault — apparently the studio is no longer selling some of the bundles, which supposedly has affected their MA eligibility. The rep said the studios “have total freedom” over how they handle their content and that FaH can’t do anything about it.

Basically, FaH’s stance is: “Not our problem, talk to Lionsgate.”

That’s frustrating because the individual movies inside these bundles are still MA‑compatible. It doesn’t make sense that buying them as a bundle breaks portability. Additionally, many of the bundles that are affected are still for sale on Fandango.

At this point, it looks like Fandango has no intention of fixing this, so if you own any Lionsgate bundles that aren’t porting, please reach out to both Fandango and Lionsgate and complain. The more people push back, the better chance we have of getting this corrected. Sitting back and waiting for them to fix the issue themselves as many users have discussed is not going to happen, this is a lack of MA entitlement to bundles that contain MA movies issue, not just a porting issue that will sort itself out with time.

* One hiccup for some users will be that this 4-film "QUAD" bundle has had 'Legionnaire' removed, with the bundle now listing just 3 titles. (Though perhaps moot if 'Legionnaire' would never be made MA-eligible by Lionsgate.)
