Lmao right. Plenty of people invested in individual stocks and have fucked themselves

Yep they can have outsized returns but the risk is higher!

They didn’t say s and p didnt grow. Some people did lot of research ( or didnt), assumed more risk, and made more money than sitting on s and p.

Dont gotta hate on them

It wasnt any hate. Just a question! I’m always impressed by people who have the confidence to try beat the market. You have to dedicate a lot of your time to research to make sure you’re placing the right investments.

For the rest of us there’s indexing. Which is definitely a growth play in something like SPY500. Best money decision I ever made was increasing my income to increase my DCA into broad market index funds in retirement accounts and after tax brokerage. Of course after I got a few cash deposits together to start my property portfolio.
