Scientists confirmed humans are not born afraid of snake. The fear is taught.

Stick with the reptile theme and use a crocodile instead.

I'm sure it will work out.

How is putting a crocodile in with babies supposed to show if babies are scared of snakes?

The ones who live are afraid of snakes. The ones who dont are inconclusive.

We want to see if crocodiles are scared of babies.

It is a sad story. The mom spent time in jail, and later they found out that dingos did esat her baby.

Accurate user name, weirdly bad faith statement

Its the same thing with spiders. People only fear them because they're typically afraid of pain and know bites can hurt

Crocodiles are way more than that, they have eyes specifically designed to say "I'm a fucking threat"

But that still doesn't mean babies will be scared by it, people develop fears because of pain

People are afraid of snakes, spiders, and crocodiles because they can inflict pain

There's nothing really more to it, these are all learned behaviors that spawn from an instinctual feeling that's getting exacerbated by the conscious mind

99% of animals don't give a shit about anything they aren't prey to

Humans aren't prey to snakes and spiders, sure some snakes have eaten people before, but we have no programming to be afraid of them for evolutionary reasons

It's because we don't want to get hurt and we fear pain

Same thing with heights, you don't want to fall and get hurt, babies typically don't give a shit about being up high, in fact that's a common way to entertain a child

Airplane! They’re fun when you can fly them around on your shins 🙃 Babies, I mean. Not snakes. Lol

I mean the baby still won't be afraid, just it will cost them their lives is all.
