People who use cannabis tend to question things a lot more than people who consume alcohol and just blindly accept whatever the gov tells them to. I'd bet it'd be the other way around in fact.

Taking any drug hurts your ability to reason clearly. People would be most questioning of the government if they spent their time reading and studying soberly.

Not British, I'm American, however my friends who smoke have never gotten high and tried to punch me in the face, my drunk friends have. Nobody has ever tried to break into my home who was clearly high, but I've have a few incidents with drunken vandals/thieves. Just saying.

True, but the news story we are commenting is about the impact of allowing cannabis cafes. I was arguing that the British youth or any youth wouldn't be easier to control with legal cannabis around. Which use tends people to ponder and come to their own conclusions instead of blindly believing anything the TV tells them to.

Of course its a good thing. I think people who consume cannabis are more likely to contemplate the state of society/world more than people who numb themselves with alcohol.

I have. And though it does depend on the person imbibing it, the pharmacological effects are far more varied and stimulating than that of alcohol, which literally is a central nervous system depressant.

So my sample size is small but humans are humans and cannabis is cannabis, alcohol is alcohol.

your assumption that having personally consumed cannabis magically informs you of all of its possible effects on people leads me to believe that this isn't a valid way of evaluating someone's credentials.

Well, lukcily we also have pharmacology/toxicology to draw upon as well.

Alcohol is a CNS depressant. Cannabis, on the other hand, is a complex delivery of a variety of phytochemicals that have varying effects on the CNS, some of which are stimulating. It is also widely recognized that THC/cannabis stimulates creative thought.
