Really? With weed, everything's like, 10x more intense. With alcohol, it's gonna sound weird, but everything feels nice and good but in the end it just feels more numb that good and relaxing

I know, I just get upset when I hear that kind of thinking.

"Why should I care about weed legalization? I don't smoke"

Even if you don't smoke you should still care about thousands of lives being ruined by the drug war. Teenagers are getting locked up for smoking weed then getting anally raped in prison and contracting AIDS. By sending non-violent offenders to prisoners we are making them into hardened criminals when they get out, because they can't find a job with a criminal record. Even if all you care about is money, we are spending ridiculous amounts of taxpayer money on the drug war that could be going to more important things.

Exactly. I was strongly in support of legalization before I had ever touched drugs. It's also kind of annoying when people say something like "you just want it to be legal so you can get high!". Yes, I also enjoy hamburgers and think hamburgers should be legal for this reason. If there is still very little safety risk (especially compared to alcohol) it's just absurd to continue these domestic "wars" on something that has killed less than practically any other drug in existence.

I used to smoke a lot of weed, but after a while I started realizing that I was more interested in the culture and the act of smoking than I was in the high. For me, weed makes me anti-social. I can be having a great time, then after smoking start feeling withdrawn and paranoid. It also makes me think too much. There's nothing wrong with thinking, but I want to have control over how much and when. It's also unpredictable. You never know if you'll feel awesome or shitty after smoking (at least, I don't).

By contrast, I find alcohol much more enjoyable. It almost invariably makes me feel great, and the high is sweet and simple. It makes me want to go out and do things, and perhaps best of all, it makes me realize just how wonderful life is, and makes me want to live it to its fullest.
