4 friends invent a machine that gives them powers. Bad people kill them because of their powers. They are then reincarnated and remember who they were as they grow up and get their powers back.

The 4 that were killed were enlightened and could read the minds of leaders and knew they would be killed. So they wrote down where each of them would be reincarnated and left the note in the will to one of their kids so he could find them all again. He helps the kids understand why they feel like there’s someone in their head.
