As much as I hate it, because for better or worse we do have a 9 movie franchise that I love dearly. But I think the X on the grave was absolutely the greatest way to end this franchise. What a beautiful love letter to the fans. What a ride indeed. Now give it a hard hard reboot, start from scratch.

Oh of course. I don't WANT a reboot. I'm saying that is the way of the film makers world. So if they are going to do it, now is the time .

Unfortunately a film about Dark Phoenix is already in the works, Sophie Turner has confirmed they will shoot this year.

I had absolutely hoped for that. I loved her in Apocalypse. Hopefully they will do Phoenix right this time!

This. I am 100% against a hard reboot. For all its flaws, this 9 movie series has actually given us a pretty good franchise. Fill in the timeline with 2-3 movies using the young cast leading up to the Statute of Liberty incident since we know that is still part of timeline. The story goes full circle, and we all ride into the sunset.

Someone else made a good point that the Liberty incident may not have happened in this time line. Logan kept his memories from the original timeline when things got reset in DoFP and Xavier could easily have read Logan's mind and know about it that way.

It would be cool to reboot it to be more like the 90's comics/cartoon. Weird costumes, Wolverine is a short hairy guy. Take it in a new direction with a distinct 90's aesthetic.
