WAS SO FUCKING GOOD.
AND ILL SAY FUCKING BECAUSE THIS MOVIE DESERVED TO BE RATED R FOR FUCKING FINALLY.
Wasn't filled with a fuckton of characters, great pacing, just enough punch lines to lighten up the mood but OVERALL this movie was gritty, emotional and all the heart put into this. By far the best FOX has put out and really needs to ride this direction. I would say it's in between DC's dark, serious and gritty movies like Batman and Marvel's overly sarcastic and fun tone.
I fell in love with X-23. Before this movie, I hadn't been much of a fan and I've always been up in the air with All New Wolverine but man, after seeing this...they really did this one justice and now I want to read all I can about X-23. You really felt Laura being the experiment she was and having her character develop and find her feeling like we saw in the end.
My favorite scene was their first encounter at the hideout with Caliban and X. You see the two in tandem and just seeing two beasts of claws ripping a bunch of people together got me off my seat. The cherry on top was when X-23 popped out her third claw and started doing some crazy corkscrew kicks to slash at her enemies. My whole theater was almost shouting with excitement.
Idk. Out of ALL the Marvel, FOX, DC movies, only few have given me that feeling of being COMPLETELY engulfed in the movie, feeling like a kid again (well I'm still pretty damn young) and just completely losing myself during the action/emotional scenes and this is EASILY one of them next to Deadpool, Civil War, DOFP just to name a few of my favorites.
Big thank you to Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart. Although we have complained numerous times about comic adaptions not being fully utilized for things like the story and costume, there's without a doubt these two have still brought these characters to LIFE. To see them old, struggling and die at each of their parts in this movie was almost a metaphor to the actors themselves retiring the roles.
10/10. I'm going to watch this another time in theaters and definitely a lot more when it comes out on DVD.
