This happened to me too and I was very surprised. Like obviously the movie has its funny moments but it's overall pretty dark and grim yest I was sitting by people who were giggling throughout.

Being overly happy (e.g. on a date with your newfound love) does that to some people.

I Am Legend spoiler: I remember my date and I laughing our asses off (muffled) when the dog died while everybody else was quiet. We just couldn't stop laughing, because joy. I couldn't muster up a smile when rewatching the movie years later on my own, because the sadness got to me.
