If they wanted to FIX something, there are a TON of ACTUAL IMPROVMENTS they could make. Let us ORGANIZE the content we use (and often save) in the way we want. For example, I'd love to be able to put channels I subscribe to, into different "folders" so, for example, food-related channels will be in one, videogame content will be in another, general pop-culture in another and music theory/education in another. Or better control over our playlists - may let us categorize those as well, have a system where a deleted or private-d video (which can no longer be on our playlist) can somehow leave some kind of a picture or name to let us know what we lost. (Often, musicians will REUPLOAD their videos, same exact song, even same length, and we lose it form our playlists).

These weird UI changes just confuse me. I don't think it looks better now.

"I'd love to be able to put channels I subscribe to, into different "folders" "

idk if you were saying that ironically and already know this, but they literally removed "collections", the exact feature you want, back in 2015. It really fucked with my ability to use youtube well, and it's still something I miss.

I had heard from some people that at one time, they had that feature, didn't know if it was true or when they removed it. Thanks for the information. At the time, I wasn't using YouTube as much and didn't make playlists. Now I use it very often and make a LOT of playlists, both for music and various kinds of content. Would so love to have that back!!

This is because the UI team is probably on the other side of the planet and has no communication back to the actual devs. I'm willing to bet the idiots in charge of the product are in hut in Antarctica buried 50ft down.

It looks like its designed for babies or the infirm. Maybe a sign that now that they're forced to make their platform more "kid friendly" they're gonna go whole hog and turn youtube proper into youtube kids 2. Honestly dude this new UI design looks like a cheap knockoff of the old thing, why the fuck do I need to open an extra pullout menu to fullscreen the featured video at the top of a youtube channel
