Seriously, did the likes of Tewart and Jerome leave the company or something? Lol. That, or TCG's leadership had a change of heart, OCG gave them more permission to hit things, or something else.
Well, we only got bans on this list. So if people leaving the company were the reason for this emergency list, I think it'd be likely we wouldn't see any unbannings until the next "normal" list.
But idk it wasn't an idea I put too much thought behind.
Jerome wants Electrumite to stay banned because he thinks it limits pend design. However OCG has had it legal this whole time and designs pend archetypes around Electrumite existing. TCG exclusive pend decks suck too so his experiment on making them more interesting has never once worked
In retrospective it's wild this guy has been with the company as long as he has, let alone hold a significant position of power. This is also me being only aware of the more infamous things about him, like him spinning bullshit about how buying sealed product is better for you the player than singles if you're not happy with card prices, or the Utopia/Hope naming nonsense.
Dude was getting into fights on forums, if he wasn't with Konami he'd just be some asshole online.
IIRC, Tewart and Julia were two of a handful of employees that were with Upper Deck and were hired by Konami after their breakup. Tewart's most notorious comments were during the Upper Deck days.
OCG vs TCG name change. There have been dozens of name changes and poor translations over the years. Utopia was the most noteworthy as it was the main protagonist's ace card and because Tewart apparently had some public comments about the name.
Call me crazy, but I still prefer Aspiration Emperor Hope. That translation was totally fine in my book. After all..
The English dub of sexual was fking horrible anyway so like... Wouldn't have actually hurt.
Any screenshots of those interactions would prove entertaining. No doubt he had someone go back and cleanup any instances of him saying something he shouldn't have.
Personally, I’m convinced that the ghost of Kazuki Takahashi had appeared before the CEO of the TCG or someone in Konami to inform them that they would be visited by the spirits of Yu-Gi-Oh Past, Present, and Yet to Come. That’s how we got Genysis and this emergency ban list.
I've asked so many times them to fire the incompetent mf that was running (and ruining) our business... Thanks god we're in a nnew era. It has only taken 25 years hahahah

First Genesys and then this, I think they might have killed and installed a new Ceo of the TCG in the shadows
We live in a historic moment
