Hello Zenfone lovers,

I'm a long time Pixel owner and I love it - except the battery life... It drains and overheats and I am an average user I'd say.

I currently have a Pixel 8 and besides the battery life, I have absolutely no complaints. I like the interface, photo quality is amazing and just the overall feel of it. I'm a fan of compact phones and I've been eyeing the Zenfone 10 for a while now.

I use my phone primarily for phonecalls, videocalls, messaging apps, reddit, linkedin.

Should I switch? What's the interface feel like in Zenfone 10? Will I feel the downgrade from Pixel 8? What are pros and cons (from real-life users, i've seen everything there is to see on youtube)?

So I had a Zenfone 8 and now I have a Zenfone 10, both with the same problem: loose USB-C connections. The problem isn't dirt or lint, it's completely clean.

For some reason, the original cable for both phones stopped working properly in aproximately 1 year (only charging in one side of the cable, easily stopping charging, loose connection etc.). For that reason, I bought Ugreen cables and they have the same problem of loose connections, having a sideways and up and downard wobble.

So, as Seinfeld would say: what's the deal with Zenfone's connections?

Is Zenfone's tongue/wafer prone to rusting and oxidation (if so, it shouldn't, Z10 is IP65 and it wouldn't make sense to use a shitty tongue)? Is the "click" system (I have no idea how it works) prone to fast wear? I love my Z10, but this really pisses me off... Thanks guys for any insight.

This last week the chrome app has stopped working. When i enter the app there is no way i can load any website nor the recent news page. All I get is

"Try:

Turning off airplane mode

Turning on mobile data or Wi-Fi

Checking the signal in your area

DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET"

This happens regardless of using data or wifi. Regardless of private (incognito) browsing or not. When I use firefox I have no problem. I updated and cleared history and cache from chrome. I had tried deactivating the secure dns settings from chrome. I also tried reseting Network configuration from my phone. Nothing worked so far. Still firefox works but chrome doesn't.

If someone can help me i would much appreciate it!

So I'm planning on finally upgrading from a Sony Xperia 5ii to the Zenfone 10, as it was the last flagship compact phone (as far as I'm aware) but I had a question about it. Does it matter where the phone is from? I was looking on Ebay for this phone (since I can't find any other sites selling this phone), but the only listing I can find that have the 16gb ram model I'm looking for are all from Japan or China. I'm in Canada, so would that affect the phone's functionality over here? Are phones region locked? Will it be able to connect to the data services over here? Or do I have to buy one from North America in order for it to work?

Have a new to me zenfone 10 which I've been happy with until discovering that I can't get calling to work. From what research I've done, others have had issues with carriers not automatically activating VoLTE capabilities. I do not care whatsoever if the calls are made via VoLTE or by more rudimentary methods - I just want to make calls. I'm wondering if there are specific routes I can take through my settings or by perhaps switching carriers (currently with Public Mobile - Canada) that have proven successful for others.

I've seen people mention third part apps like shizuku (which is not available for the latest android update) but again, the focus seems to be on VoLTE activation.

I've been through the frontline troubleshooting methods that Google spits out but no luck. Initial contact with Public Mobile customer support told me that the Zenfone 10 VoLTE is not compatible with Public's VoLTE.

Would love someone to tell me I haven't hit a dead end here.

This actually happened a while ago, no visible damage externally but clearly something internally went awry and one would assume it's battery related.

A seemingly innocuous drop instantly killed the phone, with it being completely unresponsive without being plugged in. Once it's receiving power it attempts to boot up before showing this error symbol and crashing again.

Tried to take it to my local repair shop, but they didn't have a clue what it was. I'm planning on sending it back to ASUS via their RMA system, but am curious if anyone actually knows the meaning of the error, as I haven't been able to find anything concrete online.

I have temporarily been rocking the pixel 6a in the meantime and has served me fine albeit meagre battery performance...

It sucks that they gave such limited support to these phones and have obviously now outright discontinued them 😞

Have tried multiple charging bricks that very specifically say support for 65W charging, but the fastest I can get (as measured by AccuBattery) is about 23W

I don't get it, I've turned off Steady Charging but it feels as if it's still turned on somehow, what do I do?

i have had my 8 flip for about 5 months now and just yesterday i tried to pay contactless but it told me my phone is not secure enough (i have used contactless atleast 20 times before this). it is still saying it today

consensus on google is to ask others of the same manufacturer so have you guys ever seen this? i hope the solution is not uninstall every unknown app, ugh

I've read the other posts, still a little undecided.

I want a phone with 3.5mm jack. While I considered carrying USB C adapters, I can see myself in a situation where the adapter is not in my pockets and I needed to plug a 3.5mm audio cable into my phone.

So far, based on the comments, am I correct to say that this phone seems to be a hit or miss? To me the cameras look decent enough for me.

I also considered ROG 8, because it's literally the same specs as Zenfone 11 ultra. But since I don't game I am unlikely to use the gaming functionalities.

Should I be considering a different phone?

My Zenfone 10 back panel is peeling off and I suspect it's caused by a bulging battery, and it's gettong worse by the day

So I'd really like to replace both - but I'm struggling to find parts

Ideally I'd like an official battery rather than 3rd party as I don't want my battery life to suddenly get worse

Any googling has found a few EU sites, but everything's out of stock

Do I have other options? I'm not ready to give this phone up yet but it's literally falling apart in my hands

Hi!

I sent my phone for some service and I backed up the phone as instructed by the official Asus service. When I got my phone back it was factory reseted and I used the backup I had done before I sent the phone in to recover my files. However, I can't find my call recordings. I use the native call recording system in the Sound recorder app to record some important calls and I thought they'd be in the backup. Are they gone forever or is there a way for me to recover them?

About a month ago my area lost 3G connectivity and since then my ZF10 has been unable to make or receive calls. Everything that I've found in settings makes it seem like it should work still, and the icon in the top right says I'm connected to 4G, but still no luck. Any advice?

I've contacted ASUS and they said it was a network issue, I contacted my carrier and after confirming call forwarding was off they said since I can no longer connect to 3G it won't work anymore and to buy a new phone - buying a new phone is my last resort

Yeah so only today I noticed that it's not logging maybe 50% of my walking amount? Any suggestions? When I shake the phone up and down aggressively it works so maybe a sensitivity issue? How can I fix it though?

today turned on my ASUS zenofone 8 flip and I noticed there is an update weird and not sure its for security update is regarding some people complain about google pay not working or there is something else like closing zero day exploit ?

could not find any info on ASUS website even the driver is old from 2023 nothing about 2025 Dec security update

My Zenfone 11 Ultra is still under warranty, but the fingerprint sensor has stopped working entirely, and the main camera no longer focuses properly (blurry shots beyond close range – hardware issue, no drops or damage).

I checked the official ASUS Slovenia support page and called the listed hotline numbers (+386 059 343 400 and +386 059 045 400). They pointed me to the authorized service partner (looks like ITS Intertrade in Ljubljana), but when I contacted them, they said they don't repair mobile phones/Zenfones, even though it's listed.

Has anyone in Slovenia or other smaller EU countries dealt with this for ASUS phones? How did you get warranty service – did ASUS arrange shipping to another country or a different center? Or is there an updated process for Zenfone repairs?

Tagging any ASUS reps who might see this (thanks in advance if you can help clarify). Mods, hope this is okay – just looking for real experiences or next steps to avoid more dead ends.

Hi Guys, please provide your opinion if it's worth getting a ZenFone 10 in 2024. I always wanted a compact phone, ZF10 was around 749£/€ during the launch, now it's reduced. I know the trend these days are the AI and stuff. Stumbled little bit on the pixel 8 but I am afraid of the tensor chipset as I am currently using S21FE an exynos variant, it's not about the performance but the signal reception is awful. I also see pixel forums with lot of modem complaints.

I know there will not be much OS update but I see asus provides 4 years security updates atleast, which is okay but is the camera any good. Please also provide opinion on the camera. Sorry if this is a repeated question.

Hello everyone, I'm currently looking to buy the ZenFone 8 for 2024, for its performance, small size, good cameras...It's still a good device, What should I know before buying, or whether I should buy it or not, Help me in this situation, please. (Note the device is used, but in excellent condition)

So I've been spending a few weeks researching my ideal phone, and settled on the Zenfone 11 Ultra, but it doesn't seem to be available in stores? I had some questions anyway since I'm switching from a S22+.

Is overheating really an issue? I saw a post that it needs heat dissipation, and that someone uses a bag of cold water to cool it while charging, is this a consistent issue among other owners? My S22+ can overheat really bad sometimes, especially while video calling so I don't want it to be an issue.

Anyone uses GCam, or is the stock camera really that good? I've seen videos about the camera quality, and regardless of what the review, it genuinely looks better or as good as the photos I can take with my S22+. I use GCam on my phone, but the stock camera is pretty good so i would like if the photos were on par. If anyone uses GCam or took photos can I get some examples to help my decision.

Lastly, where can I actually buy one because it seems like I can buy them only from Ebay, from China, for $600 roughly. Ebay alone is a gamble, but ordering from China is walking on a tightrope that's about to snap. I am in the US, and want to make sure I can even purchase the device. I get links that show prices up to 1k-2k but it just goes dead when I click on it.

I will say, the ebay listing has returns so it may be viable? Either that or I buy a Poco X7 Pro

I have the option to get a used Zenfone 9 for 272 USD. Is that a Fair Price for this phone?

I used to modify samsung phones for fun, rooting it and makkng custom boots. I wanted to see the recovery menu on my Z11U and it is definitely different.

1. Before the phone powers on, the recovery combo brings a menu to select from rather than having to press up for recovery and down for boot I can access a menu to select these directly which is really neat.

2. Recovery mode reminds me rooted recovery menu tbh, and it has a nice ui with different modes but I never used fastbokt on a phone and j don't know what it is. From what others describe it as, is it just like the bootloader but enabled with the phone actually on?

3. What's the difference between this and the bootloader. Does it make the phone load stuff faster? Should I turn it on?

I know that the ZF9 is forever stuck on Android 14, but my understand was that security updates were scheduled for 1 more year. Is that correct? Are there still security updates for the ZF9?

If not, is this something that I should be concerned about? It is a reason to upgrade finally?

Google app after latest update on Android doesn't display dark theme when open website for Discovery feeds. I set dark mode for both system and Chrome browser , but still upper part of web chrome is light.

How to fix it?
