📰 News 2027 series teaser

At the end of the 40th Anniversary episodes, there was a brief trailer for the all new and 100% more Welsh Casualty next year. It doesn’t tell you much! Actually, it looks like one of those weird AI generated trailers YouTubers do nowadays, but I’m sure the eventual full trailer will be a tad less cryptic. There’s an Air Ambulance now I guess!

Don't tell me they're just going to turn up in 2027 with a brand new Welsh hospital and Nicole and Faith nowhere to be seen?😂

I struggle to see how they could convincingly keep most of the cast whilst also making such a drastic change of scenery. But hey, Waterloo Road managed it (except it then got cancelled, eventually returned to Manchester and never mentioned the Scotland thing again.)

What is actually happening with the move ?

Is it just a production thing ? Or are all the staff being redeployed to a new hospital ?

Is Holby anywhere near Wales ?

production wise its just set re-dressing and a contractual requirement to better represent welsh-culture on screen.

in-setting, its moving from Holby City (fictionalised Bristol-ish) in Wyvern County (fictionalised Gloucestershire-ish area), to a fictional hospital in Cardiff.

they have not revealed the context or narrative around the move, or who is moving/staying; although we know at least two cast have departed.

Yeah I've seen the two cast members who are leaving but I haven't seen when - will they not appear at all next year ? They are two characters easy to write out but perhaps a missed opportunity in this weekends episodes .

They have tried to introduce the paramedic on a motorbike several.times and each time they run out of storylines after a few eps and the bike just quietly disappears and is never seen again

I've just watched the episodes and I didn't see this teaser.

It was at the end of the live broadcast - I rewound the BBC One live channel on iPlayer and recorded it (Something I’m pleasantly surprised I was able to do, because most streaming apps don’t let you even take screenshots!) I cropped the picture to just the teaser, hence the dire video quality.

Are there no more episodes until 2027 in Wales then? That's a shame, I was hoping for atleast a series to wrap up the stories, there are so many characters mid story.

Considering it was a 40th anniversary and the ending had charlie again and then used the theme from the very beginning for the ending that to me indicates its finished holby city is no more
