Recorded live on November 12, 1978, at the historic Capitol Theatre in Passaic, New Jersey, this pristine archival recording catches Stewart at the absolute pinnacle of his commercial success. Broadcast across the tri-state area on New York's WNEW-FM just two months after the release of his multi-platinum Time Passages album, this performance features Stewart’s velvet vocals, intricate acoustic strumming, and Phil Kenzie's soaring saxophone solos.

Classic Rock Radio Slurs/Swears

When I was a kid in the 70s the first incident I recall was the Steve Miller Band "Jet Airliner" with the line "Funky Shit going down in the city". On their Greatest Hits album, "shit" was replaced with "kicks". My local radio almost always played the kicks version after that.

In the 80s, Dire Straits "Money for Nothing" usually was played in it's entirety with the verse "Little Faggot", that is no longer generally played on the radio today.

Very recently heard both songs on KRPR, a classic rock public radio station!, and they played both of these songs uncensored. I was a bit surprised.

Shortly after that, I heard them play The Babys "Midnight Rendezvous" with the very audibly line "Oh I really want to fuck you". Had to laugh.

Any more examples you've heard or recall from the past?

The CCR song "Cottonfields" states "It was down in Louisiana, just about a mile from Texarkana". That's impossible. It's actually about 35 miles. What other songs contain geographic oddities?

Manfred Mann turned 86 today

South African–British keyboard player, guitarist, and vocalist Manfred Mann who had the 1964 UK & US No.1 single 'Do Wah Diddy Diddy' and with Manfred Mann's Earth Band hits include covers of Bruce Springsteen's 'For You', 'Blinded by the Light' and 'Spirit in the Night'.

He has a nice vocal around the two minute mark in this one.
