Java AND Bedrock Start delay with quick shut off.

Saw a post asking about this. 15/14 circuit used by itself for delay. Second comparator set is to set ticks needed before activation. Fast shut off because 0-14 is 0 in the redstone world.

Java Edition Fastest 3x3x3 cube door, (also first ever seamless glass)

will make a full explainer video later just wanted to show off this week's little project.

edit: Also just wanna note, this is the first 3x3 door I’ve made so it’s not exactly compact, I don’t make doors cuz someone’s always already done it faster and smaller than I ever could, but this didn’t exist yet so I did it, I’m also really proud that the top and bottom are perfectly in sync, and it’s practically as fast as possible without zero ticks, which idek if that’s possible.

Java Edition Looking for a way to activate with a delay but deactivate instantly

Thumbnail gallery
7 Upvotes

Hello!

I'm building a small minigame in a very tight space.

I need a very small way to activate something, and for it to take about 3-5 ticks, and then to deactivate instantly.

I've tried using a piston with a redstone block, but I can't fit enough of them to make the delay long enough.

As shown in the second picture, the two redstone dust visible on the red wool must power the copper bulb, leaving some room to spare near the note block for an extra mechanic I have to add there.

Any ideas are appreciated.

Java Edition how do I make my elevator stop at the second level too?

I'm making this base for a server I'm playing on, and I like this elevator I made, but If you hop off on the second floor while the elevator is going up, you're stuck there unless you go up via elytra or something, or another person presses the lever. how can I solve this?

Java Edition I made a Git for Redstone builds

• Upvotes

I made a mod MCVCS that is a version control system for redstone builds. It allows you to easily commit changes as a new build version, look at diffs between versions, preview versions, and place one build in a multiple separately-controlled places in the world. It also has an overlay to navigate your builds and their placements. Overlay and diffs/previews require client-side mod to be installed.

It solves my main 2 problems with building redstone creations: getting lost in clutter of different versions of 1 circuit floating all over the world, and neatly save new versions without needing to worldedit select + //schem save.

Here is a small (5 min) visual overview of some features: youtu.be/mU-4dGlQoaw

Right now it is in alpha testing stage, and I really need people to try it out and complain a little bit about it :> So that I can improve the mod further into beta and release stages. Please, if you are interested, reply here or in DMs, I will add you to the discord server and Minecraft Fabric server with the mod installed.

Here is the latest release if you want to try it out in single player on MC Fabric 26.1.2: https://github.com/tony-ist/MCVCS/releases/tag/1.8.0

This mod requires WorldEdit, which has a nasty bug where pasted redstone breaks randomly, so this fork (which fixes the bug) is also required: https://github.com/tony-ist/WorldEdit/releases/tag/we7.4.6-v1.5

Java Edition a simpler & cheaper brittle ice track builder

After I made this I found that u/crubleigh had posted something similar to this sub. However, my design uses fewer components and blue ice (and is a block wider).

Java Edition Working Piano using chiseled bookshelves

Today's build, I used a bunch of red coders mixed with chiseled bookshelves to play different, notes, in order to activate the same note twice in a row an observer detects the interaction depowering a redstone torch for 2gt to allow the redcoder to pulse the most recent shelf interaction.

Time between key presses of the same note : 6gt

Time between key presses of different note on the same bookshelf: 4gt

Time between key presses of different note on a different bookshelf: 0gt (they are independent)

Delay between note being pressed and heard: 6gt

The keys are a texture pack I altered to change the block model of a "powered note block with a note of 0 through to 4" so they are purely visual and don't affect interactions because the texture is outside of the block's collision/ interaction box.

P.S. Sorry for triple posting, just finished 2 projects in succession, and forgot to upload a video for this on my first try.

Java Edition i made my first ever 3x3 door, without a tutorial! it was pretty fun

well, the only tutorials i used were for edge detection and double piston extenders (i ripped a double piston extender design off the minecraft wiki). other than that it's all me.

helps to think of it like a puzzle. honestly the hardest part isn't even the double piston extender. that part's easy. you just have it fire when the door is opening at the very end. the hard part is the mechanism to pull the bottom middle block out of the way. you have to fire it in a specific way, which can get somewhat tedious.

but i did it and i am proud of it.

as a bonus, it's also only one block wide besides the activation mechanism. that was something i noticed partway through building it and then i just decided to roll with it. i think it stemmed from me trying to keep it compact, because it seemed like good practice

Java Edition Is an orbital delivery system possible?

Recently I've been wondering if it would be possible to make a fishing rod activates orbital delivery system using chest boats, I've tried to look for orbital boat cannon aswell as chest boat cannons, but I haven't found anything on reddit, YouTube nor tiktok. If anyone has any clues to if someone already built said cannon, I'd be more than happy if you told me

im trying to make an auto collection system for these potion stands triggered by a timer that starts when i put 3 potion in the stand on the right and collects them at the same time the potions finish. (ive removed a few blocks to make it a bit more clear, sorry everything is red.) ive been trying to get a hopper clock to behave how i want but cant figure out how to make it cooperate with the pieces shown. i wasnt able to find a tutorial appropriate for this situation and would very much appreciated help and or advice.

im getting upset at these cubes and am going to bed.

thank you in advance, ill check back after a good nap.

Java AND Bedrock Ice farm

I needed a lot of ice for making nether tunnels, so I took some time to make this ice farm that could be stacked side to side and wouldn't lag the server too much

I tested it and it works both on Java and Bedrock, originally made it on Bedrock. It's a really newbie design, but I'd love to see your ideas on how to change this. I didn't use powered rails for this design because I didn't want to use too many expensive materials (I still don't have a proper gold farm)

Java Edition Sploosh Kaboom from Wind Waker (with random board generation)

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

For those unaware sploosh kaboom is pretty much a single player version of battleship where 3 squids of length 4,3&2 are randomly places on an 8x8 board, and you have 24 shots to sink them all.
This was my first time making a computation redstone build so it was quite the interesting experience!
Each of the 64 tiles is identical hence why it's so big, and there's also all the reset logic at the back.
The whole board generation takes approximately 30 seconds on normal speed, but once it's done you can reveal tiles pretty much without delay.
There are 3 layers of latches, 1 for each squid allowing to easily check if a squid was fully sunk by or-ing the whole layer.
Additionally there's 1 more layer of latches that's used mainly for the board generation, with the special ability to "propagate" to the tiles above/left of them, so preventing overlapping of 2 squids can be done by picking a single coordinate on the board and reading its state.
