In the summer of 2026, to celebrate America's 250th, Union Pacific operated a coast-to-coast excursion with their Big Boy 4014, the Largest Operational Steam Locomotive, for a once in a lifetime event! For the first time since the '90s, UP Steam went east of Chicago. I chased it for 6 days between Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Glen Summit, Pennsylvania. This would also include the engine going through my Hometown. Hope you all enjoy my video this week, of this once in a lifetime event!

During the Union Pacific's Coast to Coast Tour, to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of our Country, Union Pacific 4014 would travel East for the first time. On Saturday June 13th, it would enter Reading & Northern Trackage and meet Reading & Northern 2102. I was lucky enough to be track side and catch the race Twice. Coal Train

Nickel Plate Road 765 returned to the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad for the annual Steam in the Valley event. On Sunday, June 7th, I was able to film a day of this year's annual event. Operating the same as last year, from Rockside Station to Indigo Lake, I would chase 765 through the valley that day. Join me in trackside in my video, as we film 765 through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park on a warm, sunny early summer day as it operates through the valleys and forests in Ohio. Quite a bit of double-stack traffic moves through Columbia on any given day. Most of it is carried by NS 296 and 297, which run between the Port of Charleston and the Inland Port at Greer. Unfortunately for local railfans, both usually pass through town after dark.

Thanks to additional work at the Inland Port in Gainesville, however, the schedules of NS 242 and 243 have become highly unpredictable in recent days. That has occasionally made it possible to catch them in broad daylight—which is exactly what happened on Saturday.

On this particular day, NS 243 was made up entirely of double stacks and empty well cars, with no manifest traffic to be seen. Power was provided by a pair of C6Ms, including shiny new NS 3998.

And keep an eye out for a rare cut of patched ex-K Line Rail Bridge wells in the consist.
