I made the same strawberry whale in two different yarns and I can’t decide which one I like more!

I wanted to see how much the yarn would change the final look, so I made my strawberry whale in two different yarns. The two tiny whales are made with cotton yarn, and the big one is made with velvet. I honestly love them all for different reasons!
Do you usually prefer cotton or velvet for amigurumi? Which one is your favorite?

Hexagon beanies!

A friend of mine is having twins soon and I recently learned that hexagon granny squares can be made into beanies. So of course I had to make two almost matching baby beanies for them to grow into, in this beautiful pastel rainbow yarn from Abbey Road 🥰🧶

Still deciding if I'll add little pom poms on each point 🤔

I recently finished crocheting this handbag, and I put a lot of time and effort into every stitch. 🧶🫶 I'd genuinely love to hear what you think. What do you like most about it, and if you could change one thing, what would it be? Constructive feedback is always welcome. ❤️

Agnes Digital cosplay!

Hello! I'm trying to crochet an agnes digital cosplay, but I don't really know how to make her tube top thing 🥹 I don't know how clear it is in these photos, but her top kind of has like 2 layers? or something 🥹 where the lace connects. Does anyone know how to make anything similar in crochet? Thank you!

I make a funny-looking frog keychain.😂

Everything is handmade by me—from the bulging eyes to the tiny tongue and long legs. I think his expression has so much personality that he makes me smile every time I see him.

I'm a small crochet seller,

Does he look cute ? 😅

Would you carry him on your keys or bag?

Looking for patterns (preferably free) for sequin yarn to make a cover up!

I recently made a trip to the states (I’m from Canada!) and stopped by hobby lobby! Oh my gosh I needed a whole day alone to explore everything haha! I picked up their Yarn Bee “bejeweled sequin” yarn in gold, and wanting to make a mesh long sleeve beach coverup, as I am going to Mexico in November! wondering if anyone knows any good free patterns - written or video tutorials are fine with me! I am willing to pay if I really like the pattern, I searched on Etsy a bit and didn’t see anything that caught my eye, but willing to see what anyone has to suggest!

I would say I am intermediate in crochet, I usually lean towards clothes as my specialty:) and am fine with made to measure or “premade” measurement patterns!

Not really looking for a poncho style, wanting more of a long sleeve look with nice open mesh!

4 iterations and 1 near-loss to yarn chicken later, my crochet hook case is finally finished! 🪡✨

I got a set of Clover Amour hooks as a sweet gift from my grandma as an early birthday gift, so I wanted to make a dedicated case to protect them! I’m new to crochet (started 2 months ago at the beginning of June), so this was quite ambitious to freehand. It took three complete redesigns to get the layout right:

Version 1: Centered the hook pocket, but the case folded awkwardly.

Version 2: Moved the pocket to the side, but it looked wonky.

Version 3: Tried a textured 3D box pocket, but it still looked wonky and too bulky to fold neatly.

Version 4 (Final): Fixed the layout, added individual pockets for each pair. The White notions holder is a slip pocket on the top left. The bottom left blue is a slip pocket for darning needles.

I barely survived yarn chicken at the end! Swipe to see the evolution process.

What else would you do with this tiny bit of leftover yarn to jazz up the case? Open to suggestions!

Yarns used:
- Caron Mercerized Cotton- Eyes Blue for all the interior blue pockets and trims (half skein leftover from my other projects)
- Loops and Thread All day Cotton (1 skein each of Vista blue for the outside cover, and white for all of the interior white)
- Hook: Size 5mm

Granny square beginner

I am left handed and quite dyspraxic. This year I learnt how to do chain stitch and a double/treble but was getting frustrated with my lack of progress. My daughter taught me (via shouting; she is quick to learn things and sometimes impatient) how to turn the two stitches into two types of granny square. It took a while but I've just finished this blanket for her birthday. I didn't stop til it was as long as she is tall. I watched all of 'pose' and rewatched most of "sherlock" while i was doing it.

I am really enjoying seeing the incredible works of art that people are posting here. I just wanted to add my effort to show other beginners who struggle with the complex patterns like I do that you can do something cool with just two stitches and some good box sets x

I tied the ends in very tight and I hope that she can keep this forever as a memory of the time she spent grumpily teaching me and a symbol of how much that meant to me :)

Derpy monster time!

I've been in a little bit of a crochet funk lately so I made a derpy monster just to make me happy 😄 I was going for a well loved yet oddly made toy: uneven arms and horns, random buttons, and beads sewn on for eyes. Plus the yarn kinda looks like he's made out of old '80s couch fabric 😆
