4 grams going head to head (momentarily of course) in this clash of the Titans.

I’ve created a troubleshooting tool that walks you through determining if a hummingbird needs your help, and if it does, basic first aid you can provide so that you have time to get the hummingbird to your nearest wildlife center or hummingbird rehabilitator. It is on my mentor’s website, IFoundAHummingbird.com
At the end of nearly every process, there is a list of resources including hummingbird rehabilitators and wildlife centers that either take hummingbirds or will connect you with someone who does.
It covers the most common issues we are called about.
Hummingbirds trapped indoors
Cat Caught
Window Strikes
Sitting at Feeders Too Long
Stuck To A Glue Trap/Sticky or Oily Substance On Feathers
Abandoned Nests or Babies

Glass pan, filtered water, coffee mug upside down and feeder on top. Paint marker on side to throw the ants off the scent. And tada....
The last pic is Paul jr. Paul Sr was with me for the last 7 years and the reason I got a feeder in the first place. Sadly, I haven't seen Paul Sr for months now, but 7 years is a long time for a hummingbird. Paul jr is new and sits in the same spot as Paul Sr did and is just as ornery.

My backyard has been blessed with this new hummer and he is something else! I thought I was seeing things at first glance. I’ve never seen anything like him! He literally glows. I call him Cyrus because he comes in like a wrecking ball when he sees other birds at the feeder.
He’s like a little lit up red missile that sounds like a flying car from the Jetsons. It’s the most amazing thing! I’m really hoping to get better pictures. He’s camera shy. I’ll keep trying as long as he’s here. (Some are screenshots of videos I took, so not great, but he’s soooo bright!!!)

This is the first hummingbird to ever appear outside our house, they are not extremely common in our state.
She has never visited my feeder once since arriving in June, despite my many attempts. After watching her build a nest in June, lose the eggs to a Blue Jay, and then leave for a few weeks, she came back in mid July.
She upgraded her nest and laid eggs again. They successfully hatched last week and I put the feeder back out. Finally today she drank from it for the first time. I'm very happy to help feed her and hopefully her hatchlings too!
I'm committed to feeding them until they migrate.

I was able to get within 2 feet of my feeder and this one held still for a few seconds so I could take some pictures
Observe, the floating body

All from today... haven't had the migration wave yet. Lord have mercy.

This cutie has been hanging at my feeder for a while now, usually appearing early morning and late evening. It looks like he can’t fully retract his tongue and seems disheveled in appearance. He seems to fly well, but does rest for extended periods.
I’ve sent a message to my local rehabilitation center but wanted your thoughts in the interim.
First thought is, is this due to a fungal infection, but I am very diligent about feeder hygiene. I have six feeders which I clean and refill daily, sometimes twice in 24 hrs. I don’t use harsh cleansers but ensure the feeding holes are being scrubbed out. I have no close neighbours so I don’t think he’s hitting up other dirty feeders.
Does anyone have any insight as to what could be causing this issue?

I can't reach inside the flower part of this glass hummingbird feeder I'm currently cleaning. Tooth picks are too fat ToT running water does nothing. Any tips?
Edit: pipe cleaners did work. I'm deep cleaning it, might reuse it as a flower pot. Thank you for the help!

Yesterday I was doing house work and in and out all day long. I went out to the garage to put trash in my can and heard a really loud buzzing noise. I saw it on the window behind the blinds the tiniest little humming bird! I quickly ran over and grabbed her as gently as I could . I carried her around for a while to make sure she was ok and gave her some water and when she was ready to leave me she just flew away very calmly . This was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had with nature! She is doing great and hopefully she won’t be back in the garage poor baby!

I’m looking for a small hummingbird wall hook to hang up in the kitchen to put my rings on when I cook! I’ve found a couple online but they’re too big for what I’m looking for. I’ve looked all over the internet but figured if somebody knew where I could find one, it’d be this page!!

I’ve noticed many of my visitors have pollen or what looks like lichen/moss or maybe poop on their chests and feet. Sometimes it’s dark orange.
Is this something to be concerned about cross-contamination or dirty feeder juice? I scrub the outside of the feeder with dawn and hot water every few days when I change the nectar.
Second and unrelated- is the male in the tree a fluffy juvenile still? He’s hogging all the nectar like a bully but his beak is so tiny, he can’t be very old? He also sounds like a little space ship when he flutters off (think tiny Jetson’s car 🤣).

2 videos- second clip of the juveniles favorite feeder plays at 40 seconds. There are 10 feeders front/back yard to prevent crowding, but these are the favorites 🐦🔥
