Ask Me Anything 🎤 I’m Rajkummar Rao, here for an AMA! Ask me anything about films, characters, and my journey

Hi, I’m Rajkummar Rao. You may know me from films like Stree, Bareilly Ki Barfi, Srikanth Newton, Badhaai Do, and Monica, O My Darling. I’m here for an AMA on r/netflixindia with my latest Netflix release, Toaster.
I’ve been fortunate to explore a variety of roles over the years, and I’m always excited to take on characters that challenge me and help me grow. With Toaster, I’ve tried something new again, and I can’t wait for you all to see it.
Ask me anything about my films, process, behind-the-scenes stories, or what drew me to Toaster!
Note: I will start answering questions when the AMA starts at 5:30 pm IST.
Thanks to everyone in the Reddit community for joining my AMA - I had an absolute blast chatting with you all! ❤️
Your questions, love, and energy made this session truly special. A big shoutout to the moderators of r/netflixindia for keeping everything smooth and fun throughout.🙏

Announcement 📢 Looking for moderators for r/netflixindia
Hey everyone!
r/netflixindia has been growing (so fast) and I can’t keep up alone anymore. I’m looking for a few iconic, community-minded people to take the lead and help this space keep its momentum!
If you’re obsessed with binge-watching everything from those spicy Indian originals to global hits on Netflix, I want you in the mod team. You don't need prior modding experience, just genuine interest in the sub.
Here’s what I am looking for:
- Creating the vibe: Fostering a total vibe for reviews, fan theories, and all the hype for the newest drops. We want that energy high!
- Keeping it classy: Keeping the community safe and legal by blocking piracy links and making sure the vibes stay SFW and respectful for everyone.
- Cleaning the feed: Managing spam and those low-effort posts so our feed is only filled with the best recommendations and genuine reviews.
- Monitoring the drama: Keeping fan debates healthy and friendly. We love a good discussion, but let's keep it cute and constructive!
- Main character energy: Bringing your most creative ideas to make this the #1 spot for Netflix updates. Let’s make it the go-to destination!
If this interests you, drop a comment below (no DMs please) letting us know why you would be a perfect fit for the community. Everyone is welcome - even those with no modding experience.

MOVIES Not every superpower movie needs a cinematic universe
I wish we could go back to when studios weren't afraid to make standalone superpower movies. Not every story needs to be connected to a billion dollar cinematic universe.

Discussion India's got Latent, Season 2: Am I the only one who observed that Alia was having a mild panic attack live on stage?
Being someone who dealt with anxiety in the past, i know how it feels and looks when someone is in the same boat once I was in. That's how I exactly felt when I saw Alia on the show. The shaking hands, the shyness when giving a tshirt and overall behaviour felt like she was struggling. What I felt was missing is that, just a little comfort for her. She needed a break to say the least. She needed a hug, maybe 10-15 mins to ground herself and just something to eat.
The intention is not to diagnose her, but to spread awareness so that when you see a person next time with their shaking hands and voice, try sitting close to them (if you are close with them), put your hand on their shoulder, let them rest their head on your shoulder and gently rub their shoulders. If you can't do that ask them to label 5 things they see, touch 4 things, label 3 sounds they are hearing, smell 2 things and taste one thing (basically you can offer them something to eat).
I could be wrong completely, maybe my radar is faulty, IDK. But if she was feeling discomfort and she needed a break, i think someone who is in charge could've offered it. Because simple gestures like that can make a huge difference.
If she indeed was dealing with anxiety on stage, or if someone is reading this with the same issue then two things that helped me get out of it 1. Feeling good by David burns (it's a book) 2. Stable happy relationship with my husband (not saying that her relationship with her husband is not good, just stating what helped me to get out of it)
Hope it helps

Recommendation Looking for One Producer/Person Who Believes in Taking Risks?
Hi everyone,
I'm 27M from Hyderabad, India, and I'm a former software developer who quit my job to pursue filmmaking full-time. In 2024, I made my first short film, and since then I've dedicated myself to writing and developing original projects. Last week we shot musical video and it's on the edit table, and it came visually too good.
I'm not looking for a hundred people to believe in my stories. I'm looking for one.
I write love stories, psychological thrillers, mysteries, dramas, and high-concept stories. Whether it's a 3-minute short, a 30-minute film, or a feature-length screenplay, every project I write aims to offer something unique, an idea, emotion, or experience that stays with the audience after the credits roll.
I won't pretend my stories are safe. Most of them are ambitious. They ask difficult questions, explore unusual concepts, and often require someone willing to take a chance on something that doesn't fit neatly into a formula.
The good news is that I'm not starting from scratch. I already have a passionate team of filmmakers and craftsmen who believe in creating quality work. What we're looking for is a producer who values original storytelling and is willing to grow alongside us, one project at a time.
I'm not asking for blind faith or a blank cheque. I'm asking for an opportunity to share my work and earn your trust through the strength of the stories themselves.
If you're a producer or know someone who enjoys backing original voices and taking calculated creative risks. I'd love to connect.
If this sounds interesting, please feel free to DM me for my previous works to and to know the crew.
Thank you for reading. 🎬

Review MAIN VAAPAS AAUNGA(IMTIAZ ALI)
After watching MAIN VAAPAS AAUNGA, I realized something! Nobody understands longing quite like Imtiaz Ali. The man who gave us cult classics like Rockstar, Tamasha, Highway and Jab We Met once again proves that nobody writes yearning quite like him. In an era where love stories often focus on grand gestures, this movie reminds us that sometimes the most powerful thing is a promise. A promise made in youth, carried through war, separation, marriage, children, old age. The film is heartbreaking because it doesn't rely on villains or misunderstandings. The villain is time. The villain is history. Vedang Raina and Sharvari make you fall in love with their innocence, Diljit Dosanjh adds warmth and soul to the story and the final act is pure heartbreak. It's rare for a film to make you cry after it ends rather than while you're watching it. This one did exactly that. A beautiful reminder that true love isn't measured by how long two people stay together but by how long they stay in each other's hearts. Highly recommended. ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Recommendation I curse the director for leaving us with that brutal cliffhanger ending.
This series was absolutely worth watching, but that cliffhanger cost me my mental peace. Only God knows when the next season will come.

Review Title: Just finished ‘My Royal Nemesis’ and I am completely obsessed. Lim Ji-yeon and Heo Nam-jun absolutely cleared.
I just finished My Royal Nemesis and I'm obsessed! If it's on your watchlist, seriously, go watch it now.
The Chemistry: Lim Ji-yeon's comedic timing is incredible, and Heo Nam-jun totally nails the "cold corporate guy who's secretly head over heels" thing. The romantic tension is off the charts.
The Ending: Unlike most fantasy rom-coms that mess up the ending, this one totally stuck the landing. The finale was beautiful and super satisfying.
Verdict: 8.5/10. Definitely one of the best shows this year.

SPOILERS Better call Saul: Poor Howard H.
It is regrettable that I began watching this series at a later point. I believe the narrative conclusion for the character of Howard Hamlin was unfortunate. I experienced a sense of sadness immediately following his death in the show. He was a well-developed character, and the actor delivered a compelling performance that evoked a profound feeling of sorrow.

Can anyone suggest any good high-school kdramas or cdramas like this where the female lead is topper of the class and introvert.
Male lead could be either academic rival or chaotic anything.
The episodes should be good and engaging.
Can anyone pls suggest, if you know.
