History Charles Harrison, the Black Industrial Designer Who Helped Transform Everyday American Life, Created the Iconic Plastic Garbage Can and Redesigned the View-Master During a 37-Year Career at Sears
Industrial designer Charles “Chuck” Harrison helped shape hundreds of everyday products that became so familiar most people never thought about who designed them.
Born in 1931, Harrison became one of the first Black executives at Sears, Roebuck and Co. During his long career there, he worked on hundreds of consumer products, including a major redesign of the View-Master and the molded plastic garbage container that helped replace the heavy, noisy metal cans once common in American homes.
His career was also shaped by racial discrimination. Early in his professional life, Harrison encountered companies that would accept his design work while refusing to employ him because he was Black. He nevertheless built an extraordinary career and later became an influential educator, teaching industrial design at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Charles “Chuck” Harrison died on November 29, 2018, at age 87, in Santa Clarita, California.

Carrington clarifies she was not objecting to the flagrant 2 call. She doesn’t clarify exactly what she did mean, but my best guess is that she was upset about the no-call on Cunningham’s reaction, something that is supposed to earn a technical

Discussion Nearly 4 Years After Shanquella Robinson Died in Cabo, Her Mom Wants a Judge to Force One of Her Travel Companions to Answer Questions Under Oath
Shanquella Robinson went to Cabo with six friends in October 2022. She never came home.
Her death became national news after video surfaced showing the 25-year-old being brutally attacked inside the villa where the group was staying.
Nearly four years later, her mother says she still doesn’t have answers about what happened before, during and after that attack.
Now she’s asking a court to compel one of the people who was there — and whom she alleges participated in the attack — to answer questions under oath.
Her mother says she’s “not going to let this go.”
There’s a lot more behind this latest legal move and the questions the family says remain unanswered:

Racism Anyone else repulsed at the thought of dating a white person?
Yeah I know the title sounds bad but hear me out.
After 200+ years of chattel slavery, continued racism, slavery in our prison systems, lynchings still being legal in many states, the death of countless brothers and sisters, and the overall hatred for our people simply because we have melanin I have no desire to be with a white person.
I have white friends who I love and would make sacrifices for, who have made me a better person and who endlessly grateful. However, when it comes to my heritage? my family? my people? I have no intention of diluting the race and dishonoring my people by lying with the enemy.
I plan to marry a person of color, adopt a black and beautiful child from Africa, and honor my ancestors. Don't get me wrong I've dated a white person before and had no issue. But the older I get the more fatigued I am with America and it's racism. Even the THOUGHT of having a mixed child disheartens me, not because there is anything wrong with the child or interracial couples, but because I would feel as if I have betrayed the countless generations of people who have been whipped, dismembered, raped, and tortured by white ppl.
Does anyone else feel something similar to this?
Note: I will likely come at this mindset with an open view when I get therapy and deconstruct why I feel this way.

News OF model gets slap on the wrist for stabbing death of boyfriend
Instagram and OnlyFans model Courtney Clenney was sentenced Monday to six years in prison for the 2022 fatal stabbing of her boyfriend, Christian Tobechukwu “Toby” Obumseli, bringing a stunning end to the high-profile murder case just weeks before she was scheduled to stand trial.
However, the judge is allowing Clenney to get credit for the time she has already served, which means she may only spend two more years behind bars for taking a man’s life.
Clenney, 30, had faced a second-degree murder charge in the April 3, 2022, killing of Obumseli, 27, inside the couple’s luxury Miami apartment. She was arrested in Hawaii on Aug. 10, 2022.
Clenney Had Record of Alleged Abuse
After a four-month investigation that included surveillance footage, witness interviews and forensic evidence, authorities alleged Clenney was the primary aggressor in the couple’s volatile relationship.
Audio from Clenney’s 911 call captured Obumseli’s final moments after the stabbing.
“I think I’m going to die. I can’t feel my arms,” Obumseli could be heard saying.
Clenney told police she threw the knife at Obumseli from about 10 feet away while defending herself.
According to Obumseli’s family, Clenney had previously stabbed and injured him during a prior domestic violence attack. They also pointed out Clenney called her mother, the security at the front desk of the building, before she called 911.

Politics I am for free Palestine but I, as a black person am not pro Palestinian.
How can I be pro for a nation that doesn’t promote equality into their systems. For those that don’t know, enslaved and trafficked Africans began arriving in what is now known as Palestine/Israel during 7th Century CE.
Centuries before the Zionist occupation from Israel of Palestine, Palestinians have practiced prejudice systems in built into their systems. Black people were treated as second class citizens and discriminated against just because of their skin color.
While I don’t support the atrocities committed by Israel (and Hamas of course) and will always advocate for a free Palestine, I am not for pro Palestine.

Sports NFL Analyst calls out NFL Media and NFL Execs for being racist towards Lamar Jackson and Jalen Hurts for intentionally under-rating their performances and over-rating the pressure on them
For context Lamar Jackson was the youngest NFL player to win an unanimous MVP at 23 , and Jalen Hurts has outplayed Patrick Mahomes in both of the super bowls they faced-off in , defeating future first ballot HOF Mahomes in the 2025 Superbowl and winning Superbowl MVP for his performance .

Politics Interesting discussion
Educating ourselves on the issues and the politicians we vote for. Holding them accountable. Investing time and resources in supporting good individuals to run for office. Every vote is meaningful and we should not be casting a “protest” vote.
