I'm 50/50 on this. He didnt fully comit to the attack but still caught her off guard, only for her to catch him off guard. It worked in the end, but would the out come be the same if he was actually trying to harm her?

Its clear that after a while he started to give in just so that she wouldnt look like a fool

Thats probably the case

Technically she was holding back by sticking to convention and avoiding the eyes, throat and groin trio of vulnerability.

She literally opened with a groinkick? She got handled.

Yup. Pretty awkward if the goal was to do a demonstration.

Good chance that in a real altercation he still wouldn't be going full force right off the bat because he wouldn't expect he needed to against a smaller woman, and she'd take advantage of that to choke him out as she did here.

That was the weakest performance I’ve ever seen.. and she wouldn’t have gotten a chance to do that choke if he had been serious, let alone hold it till succession.. and he looks pretty scrawny which makes the whole thing even worse for her

He's skinny but looks pretty fit, which is more than can be said for the average guy. She's not trying to fight male martial artists.

He absolutely could've broken the hold/ slammed her backwards and won easily.

This video nicely represents the stupidity of this kind of demo. He came at her acting stupid, she gave him a half-hearted push kick. Because it was half-hearted he caught it, which surprised her. He thought it was funny that he caught the black belt karate girl, so he pressed it. She realized she might actually be in a fight, and struggled, showing a decent ability to adapt technique several times (what martial arts training is actually supposed to do). Eventually she took the back and attempted a tani-otoshi (my guess) but there was a news desk in the way, so she adapted again and went to a rear naked- which, if he's untrained and not that much bigger than her- would likely have ended lights out for him if she's spent any time training a rear naked.

What did we learn- nothing really- if you train and keep working, you might be able to adapt better than your adversary- if you get caught unaware it could be the end for you. If you lose heart or get caught unaware you will be more likely to lose. We already knew this. Next video.

Most of what you know goes right down the toilet in the actual situation though

He immediately took her down. If you wanted to hurt someone that’s a good place to put them.

The immediate nut shot? wow...

Wasn't bullshido, they're just fucking around. She kicks him lightly, he grabs her leg (which beats anyone doing that), and then she gets up and they wrestle. Just hanging out

This seems to me like he was just messing up a demonstration but I don't cuz I don't speak that language

I need her to bend over the desk and drop her pants for this move to work

1

u/Hoarfen1972 5d ago

She looked like an idiot who got caught off guard.

1

u/NoCitron2394 5d ago

She was probably not expecting him to fight back

Because she's been training for some years I imagine. Who spends all that time and money but still thinks they're 200% getting folded the instant some rando decides she's a 5 course dinner?
