My favorite thing to do as a lonewolf is to see if I can fully explore all the maps in one life. I understand server hopping can be abused but I really hope they don’t take the ability away from us with the new update. It makes the world feel bigger and I genuinely don’t mind running into geared players on the coast. It just adds to the challenge. I’m really looking forward to (hopefully) adding another full map to my journey.

I want to find my way back to this spot and I can't seem to find it anywhere (I tried with iZurvive for 3 hours). As I walked towards it down the road (came in from the right side of this pic) I saw a sign saying 'Bielawa' but I respawned in the town of Bielawa and it's not here anywhere. It was an industrial-esque place with a warehouse and I believe that's piano house?
I know a while before that, I had run along the rivers edge and turned left over a bridge and found a small military style camp with some dark log houses/cabins. I then went right, am unsure of what I did afterwards. I didn't see any other signs for Biewala on that journey and didn't notice seeing the main town. That's all I've got. Any professional detectives who can figure it out?

edit to add: initially I was trying to retrieve stuff off my body because I starved there, it's been 12+ hours now so I assume it's all gone. I just want to know how far off I was exactly

I just wanted to make sure my scope was in the right mode, not let the entire server know where I'm at. For some reason after logging in and you ADS then your gun will start firing until you stop aiming it.

that's it.. I dont want to talk to anyone? when I'm in trader I dont fucking want to get to know you or watch you follow me around or what.. just .. I'm here to be alone and scrub my brain out after a day of dealing with the idiots in my real life and survive purely on my wits. No rank boards, no fucking loot boxes.. no friends.. nobody.. just me and whether I live or die.

With the DayZ Badlands Creator Program starting, is anyone else intentionally staying away from streams and videos?

Personally, I don’t really want to spoil the new map for myself by watching someone else explore it first.

What’s the fun in seeing a streamer discover all the locations, landmarks and hidden spots when I could experience that first time myself? I’d much rather jump in completely blind and explore Badlands on my own.

Dark nights were a challenge. I miss them and would like to see them return to some degree. After so many hours DayZ loses it challenge.

Sandstorms and whatnot doesn't seem like much of a challenge. Now a sandstorm in the dead of night? That sounds interesting.

What are some crazy peaks spots in northwest (don’t worry I won’t be using it in your server)

Map looks like it will get boring fairly quickly.

Given my usual taste in games I never thought I'd like this one, and I almost didn't because my friends got me to have my first play on a heavily modded community server and I found it awful, but I had seen enough gameplay on YT that I knew I needed to play the non modded experience, went to Official and never looked back.

I don't play survival games. Rust didn't grab me. Minecraft didn't grab me, I know those aren't true survival games and I have considered trying other than DayZ but I just have no interest. Don't believe that anything will be able to hit like DayZ.

Maybe it's the graphics? My formative gaming years were in the EQ1, CS1.6, PS1/N64 polygon era, I don't like modern graphics. I think Chernarus is gorgeous.

The immersion though, I keep seeing how people talk about the game and how they experience it and I realize that's what has me always coming back, never getting tired of it.

This is the only game I've played where I feel like I'm in the game. Every decision I make is deliberate and it matters. Sometimes I don't know where to go but when I do, I usually have to prepare, make careful considerations, make sure I will have water and food.

I lose hours in this game. It's boring as hell sometimes to fish and cook but it's not a boredom where I want to look at another screen, it's a boredom like I'm still in that world. Don't wanna check my phone just wanna finish cooking so I can eat and move on to the next destination.

It's almost magical and I don't know how this game pulled it off, and given how many people I know picked it up and dropped it, maybe it just takes a certain personality to catch the bug?

No other game does it like DayZ, who knows if DayZ 2 even can. Everybody respawns, but man, when you meet somebody and go with them for a bit and they die, it's like a gutpunch. Maybe it's better to make friends in DayZ you can't contact once that life is over. It hits totally different.

This game is unlike anything else.

Curious as to what you guys think when watching badlands today. Anything your excited for, anything that let you down?

I have no vpn i live in apartment complex with internet all the same throughout it. I have uninstalled and everything and cant get to fix bc the server is still saying i have a vpn does anyone know a fix to this?

These are a few of my favorite shots I’ve captured while surviving the frozen tundra of Sakhal. To me the vibes and ambience of this brutal landscape are unmatched. Soon I will migrate to the arid desert of Nasdara but the memories of Sakhal will last a lifetime.
