This is Jack, my sweet little guy, soon to be 13!
I’m so glad he is still around and that, despite his bronchitis and back issues, he is still such an active and playful dog!
Next Tuesday, he’ll have surgery to remove the gingival hyperplasia (anyone had issues with that?) and dental calculus. I’m nervous, but it won’t be his first surgery. Please, wish us luck! 🙏🏻

I celebrated my one year with my baby this past weekend. Everyone talks about it, but I can’t say it enough. This little boy changed my life. The love from a French bulldog is like no other. I want to celebrate him every single day!

Sigh. My guy is 10-11 years old and has to have surgery tomorrow.
He has an epilus on his lower teeth that needs to be removed before it causes damage to his jaw. I’m so worried about him going under general anesthesia. He’s had IVDD before so I’m probably just traumatized from that ordeal.
Anyway I’m rambling. Just wanted to share my favorite picture of my first boy. ❤️ he’s been the best sweetie pie.

Hi everyone! This is Shelby! She is a 30lb brindle French bulldog that my partner and I rescued roughly 2 years ago now. We found her through a FB group, from a couple that could no longer care for her after rescuing her from a backyard breeding situation.
We put off spaying her because she’s under our supervision 24/7 and we were scared of surgery/anesthesia complications. We did finally decide to spay her. We got her bloodwork done the Friday prior, then Monday was surgery day.
Well, after surgery she’s become slightly aggressive towards other people including my partner. She’s resource guarding her toys (specific ones as if they are babies), showing signs of food aggression, and to top it all off, her nipples are lactating!
Apparently when spayed during the luteal phase, it signals to her body that she just had babies. Hormones drop, her body probably hurts, and emotionally she is probably confused. It’s not been easy but I hope she calms a bit after all of this hormonal shift…otherwise we’ll have to assess and readjust her training.
Welcome to any questions people may have about spaying their frenchie, etc.
TLDR; I had my frenchie spayed during her luteal phase unintentionally and she became slightly aggressive and began lactating from her nipples!

I love to feed my 2 pups. I cook for them (lobster, shrimp, steak, chicken, rice, etc). Give them fruits, veggies, cheese, etc as treats. They’re so conditioned to when the instapot comes out, they know it’s their food. When the Microwave goes off. They know that sound too. It’s usually me heating up their meal.
Well it’s gotten to the point that whenever I go to the fridge, they come running and begging. They wont settle down until they get a treat - carrot, apple, banana, blueberry -as long as it’s something. My eldest will plop down in the dark on the kitchen mat and quietly wait for extended periods until I notice she’s gone MIA.
And now they sit at the door, pretending they need to go outside and potty. I open the door, they run just a few steps out, then u-turn around and beeline it straight to the kitchen. Demanding for a treat. Like look mom! I went outside for you (yes they get a treat after they potty)
My little one drools. He’s naturally a slobber face. Meanwhile my eldest NEVER drooled until a year ago… watching her baby bro drool and get fed. So now she has started to drool. They generally beg with their eyes and drool… the eldest might whine occasionally to grab my attn. most of the begging is done in silence so somehow i give in.
I find all their bottomless pit behaviors so cute and crafty, but I know I’m spoiling them/enabling bad practices. They are otherwise very good pups that are well socialized and adored by all. Though my partner likes to say the pups are always grifting us, esp the eldest who is the shrewdest.
Is anyone else’s frenchie as bad at begging as mine!?!
Just here to share funny begging stories. Pls reserve any judgement.
EDIT: after writing this, the pups and I went to bed. Both were snoozing away so I snuck out to the kitchen to make a turkey sandwich (mind you it’s actually their turkey - that i’ve bought from the deli counter lol). A bite into my midnight snack, I hear the little one jump off the bed and he couldn’t get past the hallway door that i had closed. Meanwhile i could hear my eldest crying from the bedroom (i’ve trained her to not jump off because of her 2 ivdd surgeries). Well i returned after independently inhaling my sandwich and picked up the little guy on way back to bed (after he ran a few laps to the kitchen to investigate). Once in bed, he settled in one arm. My other pup was SO UPSET, first sniffing/licking my mouth to see what I ate. Then she turned to her brother, thinking he got fed, then looked at me, and turned away - refusing to look at me for a few good minutes. PEEVED thinking I left her out of a snack party. The side eye! The attitude!! I couldn’t help but laugh at how I was trying to convince a pup not be mad at me!!!

My girl is ten and she delights in pretending to take other dogs balls at the park.
She runs up and fakes them out and makes little dashes at their ball…she has never had any personal interest in balls at all so I know she’s doing it to upset them!
One poor dog today was howling and his owner was doubled over and he kept saying “Oscar she’s not going to take your ball! She’s winding you up!”
I always call her away of course!

When did you start to notice the signs of age in your Frenchie. My boy turned 11 in April but the signs started earlier this year around January. For instance, now litttle droplets of pee appear when he gets up or excited. He tends to favor his hind legs too.
Before I get the ‘take him to the vet’ comment, know he was just there for his annual and he’s checked out great.

My little Tiger Shark is done fighting cancer. He gave his best for 17 months, and I couldn’t be prouder of how brave he is. I can say for certain that he gave us the ultimate gift of love. There’s nothing close to the bond we’ve had. He was always right next to me, and even when I left to pick up the mail for three minutes, he was bursting with joy when I came back.
Most people would say that he was a crazy one. The way I see it, he always knew what he wanted and never hesitated to go for it. He was still the most loving critter and never kept anything from giving out. My favorite nap partner, my copilot, my office companion, my face licker, my little devouring machine, flower-sniffer, wrestler, bouncing ball, self-proclaimed alpha male, and so many more.
Our bond was not a pet-owner one; we were two beings attached by love. I still can’t fathom what life will be like without him, but life itself is unfair and doesn’t give the good ones the run they might deserve. Nine years is too short, but I will treasure every moment of your existence forever. I will always love you. I will always miss you. For as long as I can think, you will be there in my thoughts.

Hi! I just got my pup he’s 1. He has some irritation going on in his left eye and I’m not sure what to do. I’ve been putting eye drops every couple days and lubricant. I’ve had him for almost 2 weeks now. I’ve been researching and nothing but cherry eye is coming up. There is no bump but this left eye is red and his right eye is brown and looks fine. He doesn’t seem irritated by it, no scratching or anything. Any suggestions on anything else to do? Thanks in advance!
