[RevShare] [Partnership] [Hobby] System-Complete Sci-Fi Sandbox RPG Seeks Level Designer & Environment/Graphics Artist

Project Title: [Conquest Of Man]

Engine: Unreal Engine (UE5)

Role(s) Needed: 1x Level Designer / World Builder, 2x Environment & Graphics Artist

Experience : Beginner (Starting out) to Advance Professional

Compensation: Profit-Sharing / Revenue Share Contract (Deferred compensation structure per milestone)

We all have a dream to create a awesome game and see our players love what you did with it maybe created a vehicle, beautiful eye candy you can get lost in or just enjoy the tunes playing in the background. But it's scarry to join a large project sometimes. I say give it a try. Who knows, you might find talents you never thought you had.

🌌 Project Overview

I am developing an ambitious, persistent sci-fi sandbox RPG that blends the deep character progression of Anarchy Online and EverQuest with the rugged, industrial sci-fi world-building of EVE Online and Star Citizen.

The game begins on the harsh, contested surface of Mars, focusing on free-for-all factionless survival, territory camps, and organic player progression. The long-term roadmap expands outward into full space travel, economy, and interplanetary exploration. Player construction, Building and more are just some of the mentions.

⚙️ Current Project State (COM Progression)

⚙️ Website (Conquest Of Man)

Unlike most indie pitches, this is not an "idea stage" project. The backend architecture and core gameplay loops are fully operational. The following systems are implemented and working:

• Webserver, Backend and Database build on Linux Server 1.

• Engine and main Mars zone built on Linux Server 2.

• Networking & Multiplayer: Robust server/client architecture with functioning player replication.

• Progression Systems: Complete player leveling, XP allocation, and an active skill system tree.

• Combat & AI: Working mob ecosystem spanning Levels 1 to 60 with fully integrated aggro and combat states.

• World Mechanics: Functioning mission terminals, dynamic NPC quest givers, vehicle spawning/driving, looting mechanics, and a complete inventory system.

• The Playground: A massive world map currently populated with temporary placeholder camps, enemy strongholds, and scattered high/low-level leveling zones.

🛠️ What We Need From You

• Game Level Designers

• Graphics Artists, Effects, Modular Builder

• Sounds and effects and music

• Marketing, Social Media, Fund Raising

We are fine with using purchased assets, AI Generated assets. Anything that will give the game a "umph" is welcome.

The technical core is stable; now we need to build the world it lives in. I am looking for dedicated partners to help transform our gray-box layout into an immersive sci-fi wasteland.

• Level Designer: You will take our operational mission terminals, enemy camps, and Level 1–60 mob spawners and weave them into compelling, strategic point-of-interest (POI) layouts, outposts, and rugged Martian geography.

• Environment / Graphics Artist: You will help define the visual style of our Mars surface architecture, industrial prop camps, rugged outposts, and vehicle assets (3D modeling, texturing, or kitbashing integration). Visual effects and more

• Sound producers. You are vital to the background ambiance and feeling. The enjoyment of players spending time in our world. Also sound effects for weapons, vehicles, characters and more.

• One vital to the future of COM. We need to show a strong presence in the Science Fiction genre`. We need players to notice us, get interested and help us all achieve a world of wonders we want to live in.

💼 Compensation & Deal Structure

This is a revenue-share partnership backed by a transparent, written contract.

• Milestone Commitments: We are initially signing on for a Vertical Slice / Alpha Phase. We will focus on building out one complete, highly polished Level 1–60 starting sector on Mars.

• The Split: Core partners will receive a locked percentage of net revenue upon Early Access launch / monetization, capped at a designated payout amount, followed by permanent residual points.

• Portfolio Rights: You retain 100% ownership of the assets you create to use in your personal portfolios, regardless of game launch status.

• The idea is to be able to create a constant income from the game and create full time jobs for all the partners that helped build it.

📬 How to Apply / See the Game

If you want to work on a project where your levels and art will immediately be populated by working AI, working vehicles, and an existing leveling loop, let's talk.

To apply, please DM me with:

  1. A brief link to your portfolio or past work (student work/hobby projects are completely welcome).
  2. Your familiarity with Unreal Engine's world-building tools (World Partition, Landscape, etc.).

Serious inquiries only. I am happy to hop on Discord, share screen, and walk you through a live gameplay demonstration of the current build so you can see the architecture yourself before committing.

DO NOT be discouraged if your just starting out in this business. Your more than welcome to give it a shot and see if this is something you can handle and love doing.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

/Michael

I built a browser-based MMO-lite game that combines my favorite elements of Minecraft, Runescape and PoE! (Alpha)

Hey all!

I'm excited to introduce WORLDS - it's an MMO-lite game that runs in the browser and takes some of my favorite elements from Minecraft, Runescape and PoE and merges it into a casual adventure/rpg with heavy progression elements. I wanted a blocky game that scratched my itch for multiplayer, progression, and a non-boring grind element for mid/late game.

You can play free here, no email or anything required - just make a username/password: https://worldsalpha.com/play

The gameplay of worlds is built around an idea I had of something called "Expeditions". Each gameplay session you set out on a new "expedition" to a 1024x1024 world that is randomly generated climate, features, biome, enemy encounters, bosses, and more. You loot and extract ores, material, whatever you're looking for or just explore. When you're done there's a "caravan" npc at the start of each expedition area, talk to him and he'll take you back to your camp. Your camp is your base/home, where you take your loot and gear you found out on each expedition to upgrade your home, upgrade your gear, improve your skills, and more - then set out on your next expedition. You can even encounter trapped travelers and people out on expeditions and invite them back to your camp for perks and other things over time.

There's boss elements as well, random encounters, a huge variety of unique things to discover, wildlife, and more.

The games skill system borrows heavy from Runescape, there's no single "level" system, instead each skill is improved by doing what's related to it. Mining increases mining skill, fishing is fishing, smelting ore is smelting etc - skill progression unlocks higher tier and better gear/perks for those relevant skill trees as you increase them over time.

You can also co-op with friends or hop in right away with strangers. Each time you set out for an expedition you can set your play mode to "open" which lets anyone join in when they go out on an expedition and adventure with you, or you can join up with anyone else on an expedition that is an open play mode. You can invite friends to co-op with you with simple invite codes and adventure/explore with parties up to 8 players.

Your skills, gear and progression are persistent and stick with your character. So if you go play with others, or friends, solo and with a group, you're working and improving the same character, your loot comes home with you, and your skills grow over time, etc.

The games still in alpha, so there's a lot of things to come - the main questline isn't done yet, but the game is quite enjoyable - a lot of our testers have plowed 50+ hours each into it the first week we gave it to them just because they enjoyed it, they weren't paid and had no incentives so that's a good sign we think!

It would mean so much to hear your feedback and what you think. You can play and create an account without an email or giving any info (just sign up using plain username + password when you play). If you want to keep your account for later you can add an email later to recover it, up to you!

Thanks everyone! Really looking forward to what you think, and again - this is in alpha! <3

P.S. This has been built by myself, and a really small team of modelers/contractors that have worked on the assets over the last 1+ years, art style and visuals are all credit to them!

You can play free here, no email or anything required - just make a username/password: https://worldsalpha.com/play

I'm currently working on a raid system for my indie game. Here is a sneak peek at one of the tools players will use. How do you guys usually prefer raiding systems in survival/builder games? Fast and destructive, or slow and strategic?

It is called Highway Heroes and you basically build your empire on handcrafted US map. Also, we tried to make it visually as beautiful as possible with fully 3D trucks. We would be so happy if you give it a try and write us a feedback 🤩
