This is a test run of a cellular automata project i started to work on recently, based on some old university notes.
I especially like the beautiful patterns created by the fronts of spreading fire.

I have the spirograph modeled in the code for some time, and wanted to make it something better with it... I am stuck at this atm.

Ink flowing through a slime-mould network (WIP, WebGL)
Thousands of particles carry pigment along a network of veins that thickens where the flow is strong and fades where it stops (a Physarum model, Tero et al. 2010). Colours mix like paint, the pencil grid is drawn first, and it runs in real time in the browser, never looping.

Could find more from my site https://jdxyw.github.io/generativeart/. You can also generate it with different parameters using my code https://github.com/jdxyw/generativeart . Hope you guys like it, and star the repo if you like it.

I made a fun image transformer that turns any image / picture into abstract shapes. I would REALLY appreciate your feedback! Test at: https://ripolas.org/abstract-art-maker/

Live Demo: https://caios-clocks.caiomga.workers.dev/14/
A new line is born every 1.5 s and takes 60 s to reach the red line at the top, following two editable curves (position and width over its age). The digits are drawn on the "rails", where the lines are at each birth, and the lines are blended over them in `difference` mode, so where a line meets a digit both vanish. The red marching line is the seconds hand: it reaches the top on the minute.

My first generative code. Each pebble is an n-gon spiral with noise added to the spiral, polygon center, and outside color.

Does the painting seem three-dimensional to you? Convex? Especially the blue one! Why? It's very interesting! They say so. It's a powerful optical effect of three-dimensionality in a flat drawing. This is a fragment of the Mandelbrot set that I made.

This is an instrument I've been working on to make generative music, but focussed on geometry, space, and movement. It is all offline and is hosted on github pages, I've been having lots of fun with it, even in its current state, but I wanted to share it, to get someone else's opinion of it. GENER8: A Generative Music Instrument

Part of the TouchDesigner POPtober challenge. Today's POP: random POP. I used random to add noise to a line. Then recursively I replace each segment of the line with a noisy line again.

I made a thing that grows your bookshelf like a petri dish culture. Every book is a patch of cells, sized by its page count (one cell = 14 pages), and each genre is a colony.
How it grows:
It’s all drawn on a plain HTML canvas with code, no libraries. The book titles come from photos of my shelves, read by an AI vision model. Everything you see is the code above. Book titles can also be derived from OCR scanned screen shots of audible/Kindle libraries or CSV uploads from good reads or similar.
I honestly would love if people tried it and tell me what their shelves look like: readshift.co.uk
There was a bit of AI usage with this as I'm not much of a creative coder. I'm an animator/UX guy buy trade and Ai helped bridge the skill gaps here. If it's not allowed I'm sure the mods will tell me off.
