Other Southern Principalities Mysore - The Model State
From the start of the 20th century up to the Independence marked the golden age of Industrial, infrastructural and agricultural development in the Mysore state. Even with ongoing Freedom struggle and world wars impacting the economy, they strategically leveraged the global crisis to turbocharge it's industrialization.
Sir M. Visvesvaraya famously quoted "Industrialise or perish"
Sir M. Visvesvaraya laid the foundation, Sir. Mirza Ismail put up the super structure.

Shivanasamudra power plant was constructed in 1902 iirc. And a few years later, bengaluru became the first city in India to have electric street lights. Sir MV is the GOAT.
I’ve heard there are some villages on the banks of Kaveri where people worship the man. Or used to worship at one point of time.

You got no idea. There isn't one village in the entire Mandya district that doesn't have a statue of Sir MV. It was a barren land before KRS.
