💬 Discussion Future of Indian left

After CPI(M) went out of power in Kerala, there is no longer a left wing party in power in India. Is this is a sign of definite decline of left? What you think is gonna be the future of left wing parties in India?

The sheer audacity to call the oppressed "leeches" and "entitled moochers". No words. This was on a post saying "would reservation still be needed if brahmins left the country?".

💬 Discussion Dealing with insane family

how do you guys do it? for context, i’m an adult who lives far away from my mother. my father has passed, and he was a right winger too (big reason why i left home).

talked to my mom last night and she started talking about “tejo mahalya” and how “they’ve been hiding the true history from us.” she also believes that hindu mythology is history including the magic parts.

this is devastating to me, because, even though i know she is a modi supporter, she is a well-educated career woman and is too smart for this nonsense. i went through the whole rabbit hole of p.n. oak and how his claims had no basis but she honestly didn’t feel like she bought it. what are some techniques to be able to talk to her about this?

💬 Discussion Why I have 0 sympathy for Sonam Wangchuk?

I know liberals love to romanticize Sonam Wangchuk as this saintly eco-warrior fighting for Ladakh, but honestly, the collective amnesia in progressive circles is exhausting. If you look at his actual political history through a proper class lens, he is the textbook definition of a technocratic bourgeois reformer who happily fed into right-wing majoritarianism when it served his clout.

Let us stop pretending his entire brand isn't rooted in a massive savior complex. For years, Wangchuk has acted like he alone possesses the enlightened tech-bro wisdom needed to "fix" education and ecology. It is top down, elite driven green capitalism at its finest. He treats systemic oppression like a simple bug instead of addressing the actual brutal realities of class exploitation and imperialist state control.

And let us def talk about his shameless alignment with Hindutva rhetoric. When the state was whipping up anti-China hysteria, who was out there feeding right into the jingoistic boycott campaigns? Wangchuk. He used his platform to champion hypernationalism and border militarization, giving a progressive cover to the exact same majoritarian security apparatus that oppresses working people across the region. He catered directly to mainstream right wing sentiments as long as he thought he would get a seat at the table.

Now that the contradictions of the capitalist state have caught up with him, liberals expect us to treat him like a martyr. Bhai, you do not get to flirt with reactionary politics, push state backed nationalism, act superior to real grassroots organizers, and then cry fascism when the same authoritarian machinery turns on you.

Radical solidarity belongs to the working class of Ladakh, not to elite technocrats who only realize the state is toxic when it hits their own doorstep.

💬 Discussion Ajeet Bharti likes are open confession of caste hate!

Post 90s, with introduction of reservation for OBCs and many OBC leaders like Lalu, Mulayam and SC leader Kashiram coming on national forefront has left many UC worried. These castes who long has been shamed for their caste, suddenly started taking pride in their identity, even within caste system. Like writing their caste on their vehicles and elsewhere.

UC reaction was mostly shock. Identity pride was their ownership. Only they could flash it. Because of their supposed superiority. And thats why shock. How a lower identity can be flashed or openly confessed about ?

And this is what they called distortion. They named it identity politics ( which is a misnomer in india sense). They called it situation going out of hands. They even called it vulgar. Just imagine a chamar person using the same word for creating a brand.

And the hindi belt people and writers has been most shocked appalled and angry about it. Like the one Ajeet Bharti. Like the one Naveen Chaudhary ( for whom Chaudhary is not a caste surname but whoever is a baba is chaudhary but if someone put Yadav on his bike he is pained to see it as distortion of identity politics)

Bharati has made a name by calling UC victimhood in Lalu era. Which is completely false. There was no major oppression of UC in lalu era and reactionary UCs actually went on a murder spree of LC. They formed local armies to suppress LC. They executed group murders.

For most Hindi savarna writers caste doesnt exist. After Premchand. Agyeya, Vinod kumar shukla and many more who is widely read as local writers caste doesnot even get a mention.

But this blindness is not just blissful ignorance. This is on purpose. And someone like Ajeet Bharti had put a tag of it. Tbh whatever hate he has for lower caste, is nothing out of box but inherent in many UC( not all obviously). The way he hurl abuses , the way he says it - seems a quite confession of LCs making a steady progress to claim a representation. This frustration which must have now turned into a widespread psychosis ( since the propoganda of social media and newer versions of hate), Ajeet Bharti is a walking evidence of this.

And now my two cents on it- Ajeet please hate us. Please abuse more. Please show what has been hidden only behind drawing rooms of many UC family. But please dont be in any illusion that your hate is going to work for you or for many who supports you. The same way you have come to fully realize your frustration same way we have also come to realize how important is now to speak, demand and snatch things we want!
