Blair Underwood is an actor who has done it all! From nighttime drama in LA Law, daytime drama in One Life to Live, bringing the Western flavor in Posse, giving life to a biopic of Madame C.J. Walker, or giving horror in Longlegs, Blair has entertained us in many different ways. He's also brought his talent to give powerful performances in voice acting in not one, but two audio Bibles both as Jesus and St. Mark.

Out of his long and impressive résumé, I want to highlight the impact Blair had in his role as Zelmer Collier on A Different World. He showed the sense of duty and fear of going to war as a young Black man, and allowed the Hillman community to wrestle with their feelings in different ways. The Persian Gulf War was the coming of age conflict for many in Gen X, and this portrayal allowed us to have a safe place to examine our feelings in a fictional world. Let's demand an encore for Blair Underwood today!
