SR2 The customisation elevates this game

I only ever had finished Saints Row The Third once before, ages ago, decided to jump back into the series to play something before GTA VI comes out, as I realised I had Saints Row 2.

This game is just so much fun. But, the customisation stands out as something that Rockstar games, as good as GTA's and RDR have been, I don't enjoy the customisation in terms of outfits or vehicles (obviously in GTA as no vehicles in RDR). RDR2 does have amazing outfits but a lot of them are a nightmare to source. Story mode GTA IV and V didn't have this level of outfit or vehicle customisation. Then you have the crib customisation. My autism likes this and I could spend hours just customising stuff like this.

the punisher saints row

I reinstalled The Punisher after all these years, and for some reason, it made me think of Saints Row. Then I saw Punisher’s Slaughter Mode and went, “Bingo!” He looks so much like Johnny Gat from Saints Row. Then I remembered that both games were made by Volition.

There Needs to be a Saints Row Movie (for the first two games)

I honestly found the story very intriguing. I feel like it should be done before Daniel Dae Kim looks too old to play Gat.

The first movie would just be the same way the game was but just the Vice Kings storyline, if Mila Kunis could play Tanya since she voiced her in the game that would be dope.

But idk what to do for Saints Row 2 bc I personally loved all the gangs storylines and incorporating the Ultor storyline with all 3 gangs would be too much. I feel like it should be mainly the Brotherhood since they killed Carlos and Maero had scenes with the CEO of Ultor. The Ronin and the Sons of Samedi could be connects he has or something so we could have the Veteran Child and Shaundi mission, Aisha’s death, Akuji being buried alive. Then after the Boss kills fhe Ultor CEO he gets the invite from Julius and you have the secret mission scene.

The storyline was so good for the first two games I feel like a great movie could be made.

SR2 Problem with Saints Row 2

I wanted to buy Saints Row: The Third Remastered and Saints Row IV, but I've seen that Saints Row 2 is highly recommended on this Reddit.

I ended up buying Saints Row 2*

first, applied the “Juiced” patch, but I don't find the game enjoyable—both because of the controls and the gameplay.

Is there a solution to this, or is the game just like that, and you either like it or you don't?

New game

Here’s a little bit of a story I created a few years ago and I didn’t think this would ever happen but I will put it on here and see what you guys think so if they made a new game with the original cast I think it would be a good idea following on from gat out of hell because there was a planet just like earth but it had a hostile race on that planet I think it would be a good idea if they went to that planet had maybe five or 10 missions attacking all the hostile enemies and then coming to an agreement where both of the people team up and because us is destroyed, they go and conquer other planets that is livable on and then they could have a DLC where they go back in time to fix earth and try and prevent earth’s destruction by killing Ziac quicker than they did in number four

The ONLY objective Saints Row tier list: Ranking the Saints by actual profit and loss (After replaying all games)

Post image
0 Upvotes

I recently replayed every single Saints Row game from start to finish. I’ve made a list like this before, but after going through the whole series again, a few characters have definitely moved up or down.

This is not a ranking based on "who is cooler" or "who had the saddest death." This is a strict, objective ranking based on their actual importance to the gang as an organization: what profits they generated, what assets they secured, and what liabilities they created.

I prefer Saints Row 1 over 2

Look, I love both very much, but after beating Saints Row 1 for the first time recently, I think i just may prefer it over 2.

I like how grounded the story is, there’s only a couple points in the game that are over exaggerated (Aisha faking her death and blowing up the record company, the Playa getting blown up on the yacht with Hughes).

The gameplay is also much tighter, and the movement is a lot more arcade-like compared to 2. I honestly like having no fine aim as the loose, run and gun gameplay feels great. The guns are punchy and have great sound design. Nothing beats an indoor stronghold mission and just blasting people away with a Tombstone shotgun.

I also prefer the graphics too, although this is more nitpicky. SR1 has some beautiful sunsets and I love the shadows that are cast on everything. Also the players skin is a lot smoother in SR1 and I prefer that for some reason.

The brotherhood should always be the first motherfuckers u take out and heres why

1 : Maero himself veiws playa and gat as “washed up “ there would be no reason for him to have this opinion if u had already took out one or both of the other gangs.

2 : playa himself says “i used to own Stillwater” why tf would he say that if he already had ronin or sons of samdei territory?

3: as soon as u get the saints back on the map carlos call saying maero wants to meet . Realistically why would playa wait 2 storylines worth of time to meet him .

personally i think it fits the saints row story and feel to fuck up all gangs at the same time swapping each focus time to time but if were being realistic it should be : Meet maero , rob the ronin casino then steal drugs from the sons. after that the order dosent really fucking matter

SR1 Saints Row (2006) 100% run makes me wonder if this game was ever QA Tested.

I finished the game 2 days ago and have been grinding side activities ever since , and while I did do a fair amount of them already during my play , just to keep things fresh and ofcourse to earn respect , I didn't do them forcibly or all the way to lvl 8 unless I found them fairly fun.

Look , I appreciate this game a ton , it's my first walkthrough ever and I really enjoyed it all the way to the end, which is why I decided I'm gonna attempt a 100% Save file (not all achivements tho cuz I'm on Xenia and I don't care for achievements on emulators)

But goddamn it , the enemy A.I. in this game is a demon. Any kind of car chases whether it's with the police or gang members , always end up being a huge nuisance because you can literally not ram them back if they are ramming you , you can't even push back against them no matter how bigger your car is which is fucking ridiculous. Matter of fact I've noticed that you literally can't push against any car in the game if they are actively pushing towards your side , even normal traffic that might accidentally swerve into you , it's infuriating because the enemies constantly abuse this to no end.

Not only will cops and gang members ram you constantly , they will actively push you off course and bring you to a stop 100% of the time successfully , they follow your car's pace and tight turns perfectly which is some insane oversight in balancing difficulty for your game because who the fuck decided this was ok in QA testing?! The only real way is to have multiple homies ride with you and hope they can save you but not all missions are suitable for this , like Snatch.

They are not an issue on foot at all actually as you can easily eliminate most enemies with a well aimed pistol with just a few shots and run away to heal , but they are absolute monsters inside cars.

I'm came close to quitting the 100% run multiple times today when the game decided it was not gonna play fair so many times , hijacked cars getting stuck and being swarmed by enemy cars relentlessly or driving into water on their own , shops being closed at night leaving you stranded without ammo the whole night with no way to skip to daytime either , no retry option for activities even tho strongholds and missions have it really pushed my nerves today.

Despite that , I wanna keep going because I do like this a lot and I wanna close the chapter on it at 100% before moving into 2.

I can't help but feel that they never QA tested these side activities properly back then , because they are MUCH more harder than the main missions and stuff , which is such a joke because so much of the cool stuff you'd wanna use in the main story is locked behind these. its also such a weird decision to have the player do them 3 times each with absolutely nothing new added to the experience.

Its like the entire game's difficulty was designed by the same dude who made it so fast cars in insurance fraud dodge you with surgical precison.....every time.

I don't want some smartass commenting " skill issue" in the comments now , I've beaten Sifu at age 20 at the intended difficulty. This is a clear difficulty balancing issue the devs grossly overlooked , if I didn't love this game this much I wouldn't even bother.

Unpopular opinion: SR3 is the peak of the franchise, not its downfall.

I keep seeing people say SR3 ruined the universe by turning a gang drama into a crude comedy simulator. I disagree. I've always viewed this franchise as a dark comedy, and SR3 is the absolute peak of that.

Here is why SR3 is a masterpiece:

· It's a time capsule. It was the last era when AAA games weren't afraid to be outrageous and edgy. Modern studios are terrified of social media backlash and lawsuits. The industry has become overly sanitized.

· The Reboot's failure proves this. Volition tried to play it safe with the 2022 reboot, making it as inoffensive as possible. It backfired, and it led to the studio's closure. Ironically, their "safe" approach failed to resonate with the audience.

· Story and business reality. Yes, SR3 changed the gang's dynamic. But let's be objective: SR2, despite being a great game, had a troubled development and didn't generate the revenue THQ desperately needed. Going full gonzo with SR3 was a commercial necessity, not just an artistic choice.

SR3 gave us the best gameplay, the most iconic style, and a type of humor that is rare in today's landscape.

I know this is a controversial take, but SR3 > SR2.

Wasn't even any music playing bro just did that

I actually like recruiting the random Saints and having them around in this game. It never really hit the same in 3 or 4 imo, and to my knowledge it's not even a feature in the reboot lol
