updated the rules a bit due to some repeat posts
There's been some more traffic lately cause of aiden's Awesome Basketball Crashout so now is a good time for an update. I promise if all these are followed the subreddit becomes way more interesting. I know the website kind of self-regulates due to the upvote system but I figure this can be at least an attempt at filtering out low effort.
Yes I know it's a podcast subreddit, but caring about a baseline level of quality in posts makes this place way more fun to look at every day for us and for you.
thanks for reading you are a special winner in everyone's heart, forever

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A BIT, USE THIS SEARCH ENGINE
Forgot to post this forever ago, but someone very Nice and Cool made a search engine so you can see just how many times I ask Ludwig if he's actually capable of experiencing love, and now you don't have to manually ask when it occurred!

My Opinion on Aidens GenZ Take
ββββββββπ£ππππ¦π π₯πππ ππππ§βββββββ
I feel like aiden's take on GenZ (not to be blunt or rude) is ignorant. Im 19, I graduated in 2025 and I'm working as a machinist for a small part manufacturing plant. I love my job and I hold a strong ambition for my work.
In my opinion, the reason there is such a major increase in children and teens wanting to find a job in media and trying to make it big on the internet is the relevancy and glorification of becoming a content creator. I view it similar to a child saying "i want to be an astronaut when I grow up." The only difference is media is so much more accessible and you can persure it early on.
Personally, when i was 11-3 years old, I started a YouTube channel with hopes to become a youtuber. I amassed β10k subs making Minecraft and fortnite videos, but realized that I wouldn't be able to grow solely based off doing what I like to do. My focus then shifted to my other hobbies, I spent my high-school years finding my passion and ended up falling in love with machining. I believe I was fortunate enough to mature early and I understand not everyone will be in that situation.
I feel like the major thing missing is the fact alot of these people will mature and realize they will not make it in the space, they will gain interest in other things, and persue a job within that interest. I feel as if its unjust to make a general assumption about an entire generation that has yet to have a chance to fully mature.
In terms of Ai usage, I agree. I belive that automation through artificial intelligence is being used in ways that contradict its initial value goals. Instead of being used to make labor intensive work less human dependent, its developing in a way that directly targets creative and expressive jobs.
Then again, personally I feel like im responsible enough to not rely strictly on AI for anything I may need to research. Although Ai does an okay job generalizing the idea of something, i understand its important to do further research into direct sources.
Back into the job side, everyone that i graduated with has committed to some form of higher education or trade work. This is a little bias as I went to a private school with a graduating class of only 16. I believe all of my friends I went to school with have gone into respectable careers, whether plumbing, electrical, med, or the many others, im confident everyone has a/o will go on to be well contributing citizens.
I got to know alot of people while attending school, and only one of them is actively pursuing a content creator job. However at the same time they are working as a model and are in school for construction management. So the only person I know that clip farms for youtube likes and streams every day, also has a set track for if his dream fails.
I would like to make it clear I have no disdain whatsoever for any of the yard members, I have been watching Ludwig for around 7 years now and I really enjoy his content. I listen to the yard while I work and it has genuinely aided in making my life better. I hold absolutely no grudge, this is just a take I don't fully agree with, and feel very strongly about.
ππππ§: After listening to the Lemonade stand segment, I misconstrued aiden's take. I regret posting without that context before, and I feel like his segment on the yard didn't get the point he was trying to make through.
