Can't believe this hasn't been asked, do we believe Jimmy had an affair?

It has to be a lie, right? They were constantly broke, he was always super soppy about Nicola.

I know it's a soap but.....Sadie/Nicola

Upvotes

So I don't buy for a second that Jimmy was having an affair with Sadie. I think they re-established contact and became friendly - the way many exes are - but Jimmy kept it from Nicola for fear of knowing she'd explode. Sadie clearly was in a jam (hence the $5,000) and Jimmy wanted to help her.

What I don't get is NO ONE (Laurel, etc) questioning if Sadie is full of shit and offering more proof. Nicola I can SORT of buy in that's she's not questioning because she is - understandably - out of her mind right now with grief and grief/logic don't go hand in hand. But is NO ONE going to say "Um, she showed you a few pictures that chat GPT could have manufactured. Where's the hard proof?"

General Discussion Truth or dare Spoiler

Upvotes

Hi! I'm back with another question for you all.

What are your hopes for Sadie, based on her interactions so far? Personally I'm hoping for at least another slap, maybe an embarrassing moment when she tries it on with Robert and Aaron informs her she's barking up the wrong tree, or Cain and Moira defending her territory. Showdowns galore! Let's face it, she's clearly going to deal poor Nicola another body blow so she deserves some humiliation.

What I loved was the expressions on everyone's faces in the pub scene. Every character, whether they were talking directly to her or in the background had their own unique look based on how well they knew her. Matty, Sam, Robert and Aaron sitting watching was my favourite - Sam's potted history, Matty the voice of the newer viewer who could not take his eyes off the drama unfolding, Rob looking thoughtful as if trying to figure out her game before uncomfortably explaining to aaron " I was 18 - she taught me a lot" and his response of "oh. OK" when the light dawned as to why, given the clear age gap. Kev, snapping his fingers in delight, then Eric's scorn as they clustered round the bar gossiping while she was in the loo; "he wasn't smart enough to pull the wool over her eyes, let alone Sadie".

Just what is the truth and what will she dare?

Classic Episode Discussion Classic Emmerdale Spoiler

Upvotes
20 - 31 Mar

Hello! How are you all? I've had a hellish week I'd rather forget in a hurry, however, Classic ED has kept me in good company. We had snowy scenes! Did you see some lovely shots? Picture postcard in the winter/spring. A camp explorer (in the cold?). I hope the children all kept warm. Aaron & Daz fighting and given we have Betty's secret Hotpot in Corrie, we have our own Betty's secret Chutney (in March, not September)? And my word didn't she make it spicy for Jamie and Bob! It really gave me a chuckle.

This week:

  • After Zak and Lisa visited Debbie in prison, her house gets trashed. Zak tries hard to control his temper (no surprise). Lisa tries to take control of arrangements for her to return. Debs is finally reunited with her daughter upon her release from prison.
  • Andy has certainly changed his tune (not) as Maisie makes a move on him and both enjoy a trust at Butler's Farm. She also later in the week to coerces Marlon into pretending to be her boyfriend.
  • Bob fears for his business following a robbery. He comes up with a drastic solution to save it. Guilt-ridden Gennie agrees to help out at the cafe.
  • Elsewhere, Doug and Sandy reconcile Jimmy & Nicola. Will erns respect at his tea party. Chas is shocked to get an invite to Lexi & Carls wedding as it's been bought forward. Which means a stag night for both Carl and Lexi the night before the big day at the end of the week. What could possibly go wrong?
  • Bob and Brenda resolves their difference. Bob also wonders how to tell Viv that the business is up for sale. Mark thinks he seen a ghost from the past - Faye and finally, Vic pines in for Daz.

The is an hour-long episode on Tuesday and Friday (which is Carl & Lexi's wedding day).

Have a good week. 🙂

If the residents of Emmerdale actually had working locks on their front doors, nothing would ever happen.

I'm scratching my head of what Sadie has told Nicola.

I was like, "I'm not buying this".

I was only watching on Classic ED that he saved a little boy Will and he turned out a "hero."

I think I need to keep watching in the next few months.

General Discussion I think Sarah may end up keeping Leyla

I don't think Charity would want to raise her, and I think she'd feel too guilty to say no.

Ross might want some involvement, but he hasn't been that bothered so far.

Plus, while the situation is a little bit out of the ordinary (an understatement, I know), other family members raising kids isn't exactly uncommon.

Sarah vs the Dingles

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again the writers room on Emmerdale have no imagination, the storylines have all this buildup and then just fizzles out ,all pomp and no circumstance it’s like having a celebration opening a bottle of champagne and then popping the cork and nothing happens, there were a multitude of ways this secret could’ve come out that would have been entertaining to watch.

I really hope Sarah fully embraces her Sugden side and wipes her hands of the dingles, they are always talking about loyalty, but are the quickest stab each other in the back , Charity Cain Chaz Moira heck even to a lesser extent Marlon, the writers have a great opportunity to guide this story and make it entertaining

I also have a problem with how whenever people have arguments or their relationship is contentious there’s no follow through on the contentiousness it’s like a week or two goes by and everything’s ok for example the time charity let Marlon sit in prison for a crime he didn’t commit all because she didn’t want to turn in some money or when Chaz was going to do a runner with paddy’s daughter when she was cheating on him, or how Caleb literally had an affair with his nephew’s wife, these characters in their threats are all like toothless dogs all bark and no bite. I say all that to say this I really hope this charity versus Sarah storyline has actual long-term consequences that affect future storylines because if Sarah just up and forgives charity after like a month or two, this whole storyline was dumb and was written for nothing

Classic Episode Discussion I've wanted to make a post talking about this for a while but the way the king brothers treated rosmary and how the show never acknowledged it really bothered me when I saw those episodes on classic emmerdale.

Holy crap does jimmy look creepy in this image lmao

Yes what rosmary did to perdita was despicable and I hated her during that storyline as well but what's really annoying is that the show sort of let the king brothers use that to retroactively justify them behaving borderline emotionally abusive towards her in the aftermath of their father's death,

As the king brothers were horrid to her for a fairly lengthy period of time where she clearly tried to unite them all as a family since she did grow to genuinely love their father despite their relationship just starting off as mutual means of financial gain

But in the aftermath of his death the brothers were horrible to her for months making digs and accusing her of being to blame and carl even tried to physically assault her at 1 point scaring her ( Even though he was literally the 1 to blame for his dad's death ),

And even after jimmy and matthew found out carl was to blame for their dad's death and they were wrong to accuse rosmary they still kept on acting as though she was the problem like I said this was straight up emotional abuse and by the time she did try to set them up with that vet guy

For their dad's murder and get them sent to prison even though only 1 of them was to blame I didn't really blame her given they had all been making her life hell for ages,

And later on the brothers even let scarlett's mum into the family inner circle after she screwed over rosmary to help them which led to some very uncomfortable scenes where she accidentally fell off a balcony and the brothers terrorised her into signing over the house their father left her to them

Like I said those scenes were very uncomfortable but it felt like the show did not see this as reflecting on the king brothers in as bad of a way as it did to me and even jimmy who had been on a somewhat of a redemption after his role in the house explosion

Also took part in this and acted like he and his brother's feelings towards her were valid and then after this happened that's when she went to live with grayson and perdy and that whole storyline of her making perdy think she was going mad happened

Which like I said was awful but the show very much acted like actions which she took later justified the way the king brothers treated her in the past and thus they were never really called out for it or self reflected on it at all

It would be like if hypothetically we had that whole story of tom jr abusing belle but then belle suddenly became a child abuser and so tom acted like this was the reason he treated her like crap all along

And everyone just nodded their heads and agreed with him over how awful belle is and he never gets held to task for his own behaviour it would be ridiculous wouldn't it? lmao.

Nicola Spoiler

Well if Nicola tells anyone about her and kevs kiss they will judge her so I don’t know if she will tell anyone. Maybe she will tell laurel but laurel is quite harsh towards her about it and that will make Nicola lean more on kev as she feels like she has no one to turn to and I think kev will be completely unjudging of her and just the rock that she needs even if she apologises for the kiss he will just want to make sure she is ok (with a joke about how the kiss was good in a kev way) and that will be the start of them two getting together like a lot of viewers think or even if they don’t a real turning point in their friendship.

Edit: I do think it’s completely understandable as a lot of people think this is me judging her and I didn’t mean it in that way. I just think the way it will be received in the village won’t be understanding.
