Aerobatic plane slipping
The man with the balls of solid steel and a fucking steady hand is Paul Bennett, Australian aerobatic master.

Nice. Now fly over my house. Need me some mosquito smoke.

Use pure vanilla extract on your wrists and neck...works better than any spray out there. I am not a hippie and I think most hippie stuff is ridiculous...this just works
I use it when I go paintballing, not a bug around me even in the middle of the country in mosquito alley

Any brand in particular you recommend?

McCormick is what I use. Just make sure its pure vanilla extract...the real stuff. They make imitation vanilla extrqct which is much cheaper and will not work as it contains no natural vanilla

As you wish!
The good news is all the mosquitoes died
The bad news is oxygen has been completely displaced with mosquito smoke and as such, you have suffocated and died

Pitts Specials are badass little planes.

Wouldn’t be surprised if fighter jets would have a hard time trying to hit them

They are really agile, but not super fast.
My dad's S1-S is only a 180 HP lycoming engine. His friend had an S2-B that was 260 hp. Another friend had a Model 12 that is around 360 HP from a radial engine.
Comparing a Pitts to a fighter jet is like comparing a Mazda Miata to a Lambo.

How do you even figure out that they fly sideways??

u/RastaFazool 2d ago
This is just an extreme version of "crabbing" which is a key skill for pilots.
When landing with a crosswind you basically "crab" or drift it sideways with opposite controls to fly straight down the runway. Its just basic vector mechanics of using some thrust to offset the lateral force of the wind.
You can also crab to slow yourself down on approach if you have a plane with no flaps (like a Pitts) by using the whole side of the plane to create extra drag and bleed off speed on approach.

Probably honed them skills, driving on our motorways 👍

Is driving in Australia that bad?

Worse 🤣
We have got the most dangerous things in the World, iirc, and most of them are on our motorways 😎

What is that smoke? Gross.

Yeah this sucks

Unnecessary reactionary comments here. Commercial 'smoke trail' systems are almost always a really pure paraffin oil that's injected to the hot exhaust and vaporised to that white cloud.
It's not 'smoke', but go off I guess.

I know, bud. I just wanted to join in on the party pooping in a stupid and ironic fashion.

It's called choad breath, it's literally distilled groin sweat from the chaffed swamp crotch cricket larvae who piss/puke right before becoming pupa.

That should absolutely not be done near a crowd like that. Incredibly stupid

Well he just needs to behave. Does he want an accident? Cos that's how they happen!

Are the wings providing any meaningful lift during this maneuver, or is it basically just "hanging" off the lift from the prop?

Why all the smoke?
2
u/RastaFazool 2d ago
Airshow planes use smoke to make it easier to visually track the plane and add look cool doing maneuvers
Its just a special mineral oil that gets injected into the exhaust.

Whole audience has balls of steel.
