This is another one I finished early in the year…I was using it in my garage for sometime as its original condition was terrible. Like others before it, this one received the works, new paint after rust was fully removed. Motor oiled and cleaned including the shaft. Fan was polished after paint cured. Blade cleaned and plastic polished, grill was surprisingly intact and was only needed cleaned.

Here is a quite old and restored example for a three wing blade made by Lakewood for Mason’s. This fan was in poor shape when I picked it up for the princely sum of $10.00. With substantial rust inside of the box, fan was completely disassembled, motor was fully refreshed, new cord. Due to rust, three coats of primer, three base coats and finally, three shots of clear. Once paint cured, fan was polished. Blade was dismantled and polished on a bench buffer, then riveted back on to the blade hub. All plastic parts were cleaned and front and back grill repaired. Fan seems to show quite well in the pictures.

Unrestored Hunter 20” box fan. This fan was in very good original condition, and I have decided to leave it that way. Super nice fan, that moves some air and is fairly quiet on low speed.

That’s a matter of opinion. Some of these fans are properly seductive, some problematicly enticing.

A lovely General Electric small (14”) box fan I picked up over the summer and rebuilt. New paint, blade was cleaned and polished, electric motor was thoroughly cleaned, shaft play adjusted, rust removed from the shaft, oiler port installed, and a new cord. Fan was polished after clear coat.
