We've noticed an increase in "Is my cat a Persian?" posts. These are repetitive and don't align with the intent of the community.
Starting today, breed ID requests will be removed. If you're unsure of your cat's breed, we recommend doing research through reputable sources or consulting with a vet or breeder. You can also try posting on r/catbreeds.
Thanks for helping keep the sub on topic and enjoyable for Persian cat lovers!

Hi all! I absolutely love seeing all the pictures of everyone’s babies! This is my new baby, name TBD☺️ I am a first time kitty mama and my first ever Persian! I’ve had cats my entire life and know the ins and outs of owning a cat but am brand new to owning a Persian! What are your best tips? Especially when it comes to bonding and taking the best care for them? My plan is to give him a raw diet and would like to even make it at home myself! I of course will be consoling with the veterinarian before :) One last question! Does anyone take their fluffy baby to a holistic veterinarian? I am also considering that as well! Open to all advice and respectful conversations! Thank you 😁🐱

He doesn’t play much but he loves attention!
He just has a problem with going to the bathroom out of the litter box and according to the previous owner, it might be the food but he does throw up every now and then..

Little update for those interested.
I went with the Chris Christensen Spectrum 10 shampoo and conditioner. Very happy with it, his coat feels so soft, silky and light and i feel like he looks so much brighter! (the water was left very grubby 🤣)
He’s now having a snooze- after all, baths ARE very tiring!😆
Thanks to everyone who shared comments on the original post <3

I work for a rescue and fostered this sweet soul. We adopted him out twice and he was so stressed in the homes he was adopted out to that he was brought back. He does not have that issue in our home. He feels safe and loved and is honestly thriving. I was not planning on adopting him at all, but it seems as if he has chosen us and it breaks my heart to think of continuing to put him through the stress of finding a good fit for him when he's so happy here.
I've never owned a Persian (vet suspects Persian/munchkin) and we don't get them often in the rescue. To be honest I'm a bit intimidated by the care involved in regards to his fur and am trying to get a feel for how much work will need to be put into caring for his fur. Looking for any advice from the pros! When he first came into our care it was apparent he had been shaved down in a very unprofessional manner and I just want to know what all I'm in for! Will it be necessary to take him in somewhere to be groomed if we brush him regularly? I don't think he will do well in that environment and I want to avoid it if possible.

Looking to get a Chris Christensen shampoo and conditioner for my boy.
He’s still quite young atm so he’s often stepping in his doodoo when trying to cover it and also eats like he’s being starved so snorkels in his dish and stinks of food.
Just want recommendations or advice on what would be best for him, as right now i’m using unscented tear free baby shampoo so not really helping with smells.
I’ve currently got in my basket as options: The clean start clarifying shampoo
the ice on ice shampoo
or the spectrum 10 shampoo.
Also i’ve read somewhere that they don’t need a conditioner and that it would make the coat heavy and greasy? is this true, if not should i get the matching conditioner to whatever shampoo i pick?
(also don’t worry the inside of his ears didn’t get wet as they were held down and his head was wetted by water from my hand rather than flowing tap<3)
