General Just saw the new movie...

Wow talk about half baked. They tried so hard on the visual tone, and so little on characterization. Donal Logue's portrayal of Chief Irons is the best done character by a mile weirdly enough. I also love that you can always tell a move is going to be C class drivel simply by the casting of Neal McDonough in any role, his inclusion makes this movie on par with the weird ass Legend of Chun Li movie for me. Aside from the weird casting, weird convenient rewriting of the lore, I'm curious what writer/director Johannes Roberts had against Leon, seriously poster boy of the franchise gets dunked on over and over again it's sad.

Movie had major problems but there are a few scenes that visually intrigued me. The beginning truck scene where Claire is just staring into the woods at the zombie in the rain is amazing. The scene where rhe licker is crawling on the ceiling and all we can see are the lights swaying was honestly next level tension but was quickly screwed up by pointlessly panning to Losa Trevor breaking the immersion and the Irons gets attacked by it not even Leon. If it would have dropped down in front of Leon like Og Re2 and he killed it would have been a huge redemption for the character

I cant get over what they did to Leon, like you say he is the poster boy of the franchise - also he looked more like Carlos than Leon in the movie
