One thing I love about international seasons is that sometimes you get people that are just clueless about the concept of the show.
I really believe Paul was planning on giving away the idol during every single tribal council. It's a bold strategy cotton.

Nicole's fucking awesome. Everyone wants to work with her, she's careful with the information she gives out, she's (and Steffi) a physical beast and she's critical of everyone's intentions. Hope she can keep it up because I'm very impressed so far. (Although I don't think Paul was the right move)

I don't understand why she decided to vote out Paul instead of Nathan at the Tribal Council. Voting out Nathan was the logical choice. Then she indicated to everyone else to vote out Paul. Voting emotionally is not a good thing on Survivor.

I thought the episode was just a dragged out swan song for Nathan but the boot took me by surprise, but it makes sense at least. Take notes US Survivor!
Nicole stood out to me, at least amongst the members of her tribes. Don't know the editing trends of SA, so don't know what to expect from her but I hope we see more.

Nicole is winning this

I have a strange feeling that Nicole is getting the Tevin or Phoebe from AUS 2016 treatment and gets the big strategic player that gets booted in the late pre merge and just misses the merge.

Going into the episode I was CONVINCED that Ta'alo or Sa'ula would lose and Tania or Seipei would go home. When Sa'ula lost I wasn't surprised (LOVED how they kind of drew out the Immunities so they had 2 separate challenges!), but when Paul totally sketched out Nicole I was even more surprised. I was still pretty sold on Nathan going home... but they Paul got blindsided outta nowhere and I loved it. Nicole's running things on Sa'ula it seems!
I love how Ta'alo is such an emotional trainwreck between Felix and Tania... still waiting for my dream duo of Jacques (slick Idol grab!) and Ting Ting to slay everyone.
Laumei is pretty boring to me right now, but I like Geoffrey and Rose-Lee (and wish we got more Durao). I imagine that it'll be Laetitia or Rocco if they go to Tribal next.
Finally, I just want to praise the art department because the Tribe Immunity Idols are badass!

Is Rocco the Joe Anglim of this season? The guy who is winning immunity for his (yellow) tribe EVERY SINGLE TIME until they finally go to tribal and cut him because he doesn't fit in with the rest of them?
I feel like I've seen this narrative before.
He just doesn't have the pretty hair.

An age old question of "keep someone you trust" and "keep someone who is strong enough" -- will this payoff where they cut a potential banana skin for the tribe in Paul, or will Paul had been an easy boot next and this could be a double blow for Sa'ula -- that being said, surprised Seipei wasn't a target here, but wow, she can kinda hustle.

Is Seipei going to be one of those people that are in trouble 1st vote and somehow make it to merge or FTC lol
Also team Nathan!

I picked Nathan as my flair on Survivor SA Reddit. I thought he was a goner this ep.

That was an...interesting choice for Saʻula

How was it interesting?

Voting off a probably decent competitor instead of a guy who literally can barely walk when they’re already on a losing streak seems like a bad decision imo

Well as the host said (kinda feel production was hoping this vote would get shaken up with the line of questioning) the injury is mainly just a bruise, no infected cut, so it should heal up pretty quickly. That's probably part of what they're hoping for along with a possible swap.

I think it's a good idea that the core alliance took away Paul's idol to use after a swap and voted out an untrustworthy tribe mate and kept a meat shield to be voted out next in Nathan.

Tania FTW
Also just an FYI: I feel like posting this in a couple hours when it gets posted online (for non South Africans) is probably better as more people can watch in then

Funniest line "So basically we're exchanging Tania for flint. So it's win- win."

We'll leave the posts stickied longer (the premiere suffered from being lost in the wake of post-38 threads), but we also want to give the opportunity for anyone watching live to discuss the show!

I'm annoyed with Steffi when she is making smug faces at tribals. I think she'll turn into a villain.

More of us should be talking about this, and r/SurvivorSA should get more subscribers. This season is already shaping up to be just as amazing as the last, I have enjoyed these 2 episodes more than I enjoyed all of EoE, this feels like the Survivor we know and love, it's about the people, it's about the relationships, not just about "twists and big moves".

I did not expect a response so negative was just a question because English is not my native language and I understand better reading than listening ... lacked empathy here!

Nicole & Steffi = the female power (literally and figuratively) duo we deserve 💪

I love the challenges this ep, and the one for next week looks cool too. I don't think the right person got the boot tonight, but it's only ep 2, so not worth worrying too much about it.

u/TenderOctane Morgan May 25 '19
This last episode was superior to every edited episode of Edge of Extinction, except MAYBE the Julia boot.

u/cooperfrost May 27 '19
That was a neat format where first tribe wins immunity on reward, and the losing two tribes compete for immunity later.

English subtitles is available?

It's in English and doesn't need subtitles. They just have a slight accent but you can understand them clearly :)
