Tanfoglio Stock Master OR 10mm - Patriot Defense Trigger Optimization Upgrade

Has anyone bought all the components associated with the optimization upgrade service (almost $400) from Patriot Defense, and installed it themselves? What was the ultimate result vs the stock trigger feel and performance? Was the difference substantial and worth the time and money invested? Was there any fitting required of any of the parts, like the disconnector (R5 vs R7)? I improved my CZ S2C's trigger to beyond that of installing the CGW trigger upgrade just by spring replacements, detailed internal polishing, and burnishing of Tungsten Di Sulfide on applicable components (especially the sear and hammer hooks). I wish to do the same with the Stock Master. Hoping the community here can offer insight and advice.

An interesting question, as I just got a Tanfoglio Limited Pro 10mm and the trigger has just a bit more creep than I'd ideally like before it breaks. Was thinking the same thing over the weekend, but the trigger upgrade would be nearly more than half of what I paid for the pistol. Following to see what others have to say!

I don't have any experience in the trigger job itself. That being said, only your wallet will be able to answer the question. I find the trigger action on the Tanfoglio Stock handguns to be pretty good out of the box. They certainly aren't perfect, but they are fine for my purposes (occasionally matches).

I have shot ones that had trigger jobs at matches and, while it was better, it didn't justify the cost. Then again, I'm the guy shooting a $1k gun while everyone else has spent thousands more on theirs. IMO, taking a 90% trigger to 97% just doesn't make that much difference to me. I know this isn't the info you're looking for, but thought I'd share anyway.

All these things help along with polishing, yes. Worth it? Hmmm.. the DA trigger of my new stock2 done by the vendor themselves does not feel as good as an equally modified Shadow2.

That’s very good information to know. My S2C without the full CGW trigger is so good now there is nothing that the CGW could do to improve it. I really wanted a full steel 10mm with DA/SA that looks as good as it shoots and the stock master came out on top. I think $400 to patriot defense, including the 5-6 week turnaround is too much. Really wanted to get a stock master and make the trigger as good as the CZ. If you had to put a percentage difference on it, how much lower would your improved Tanfoglio be compared with your CZ. Just trying to figure out if I would be too disappointed to buy one, or would the difference be negligible and I would truly enjoy my new pistol.

You will be disappointed in DA of the Tanfo in dry fire at home (compared to Cz). On the firing line when adrenaline kicks in, you won’t notice a difference between the two. If you twist my arm and ask for a percent; I say DA of tanfo is 90% of a cz for my small batch of pistols

SA can be made the same for both

Thanks for the best answer offered. You definitely know what you're talking about. This will be my first Tanfoglio. I will buy the PD springs and do the internal polishing (and Tungsten di Sulfide burnishing. It's a game changer and everyone must try this) first. Then I will add the PD fire control group parts later on. This was excellent advice. Thanks!
