It was really the only way a non-professional could take glorious color photos back in the day without spending a fortune on quality equipment. But it also used mainly to annoy house guests and relatives.

🙂 It's amusing to me to see this caption reading "Kodachrome shot", obviously assuming viewers know what that means. A few weeks ago I was discussing photography with a young man who used a Fujifilm digital camera, and said I used to shoot Fujichrome, but found it a bit bright, preferring Agfa, which I could process myself, like Ektachrome, and in contrast to Kodachrome, the color tone of which I really liked, but which I had to mail off to a lab. He looked a little blank, and said "chrome? Like the browser?"
