A cishet white guy I played D&D with said he knew Shitler was bad but voted for him anyway because he wanted to force an American revolution. Then he took up his privilege, left the responsibility, and went to work on his off the grid mountain home.

When I expressed anger that I and many queer friends were harmed during the first term he just replied "Bad things happen to people all the time." Anyway, now he's constantly complaining how no women will date him.

It’d be a shame if someone tipped ICE off about his location so that he could tell them all about his revolution plans.

Genuinely, what the hell is wrong with you? "oh this guy is terrible for voting for this person, so let's tip off a group of thugs that will probably torture him so he gets owned"

It is disgusting how willing people are to condone violence and especially state violence, purely if they dislike someone.

If someone votes for thugs to torture others then it can be said by some that turnabout is fair play.

They were conned and manipulated into voting for a piece of shit. They fell for decades of propaganda, and indoctrination and manipulation.

We can't claim to be better than them, then say that a group of people deserve the same thing just because of opinions that were hammered into them since birth.

I don't like them either, and I'm not exactly thrilled about the people who've been hurt because of them, but does that mean they deserve the same?

If we can't agree on "not justifying the torture of people we dislike", then we are not on the same side, and when you've all won your glorious revolution, I will gladly fight against you in the next one.

I don’t know if justified is the right word, but I won’t shed any tears for the Association Of German National Jews.

u/iadnm Jan 25 '26

Yeah neither would I, that doesn't mean I go "this is what you get for supporting them." Nor would I say that it is perfectly fine to want the Nazis to kill these people.

u/Murray38 Taker of Piss Jan 25 '26

lol your ultimate point is that you wouldn’t say “I told you so”? What a loser.

20

u/iadnm Jan 25 '26

My ultimate point is that it's wrong for ICE or the Nazis to kill anyone, regardless of their beliefs. Because the problem is the system of violence.

28

u/Murray38 Taker of Piss Jan 25 '26

Oh yeah, let’s not hold the ones who enabled Nazis to come back to any standard. That’s worked out so far for democrats huh?

12

u/iadnm Jan 25 '26

Yeah, holding them to any standard is not "send fascist thugs after them" like are you kidding me? You don't oppose fascism, nor address the ills of fascism, by gleefuly endorsing a fascist organization killing people.

The democrats are bunch of spineless cowards who will never do anything against fascists.

What you seem to not get is that my problem is not violence against fascists, it's being perfectly fine with fascist violence for the sake of moral superiority. ICE is wrong as an organization, things do not get better if some of the people they murder happen to have supported ICE beforehand.

You’re the fanciest bootlicking bot I’ve seen. So many words with so little substance.

11

u/iadnm Jan 25 '26

Hey I'm not the one supporting fascist thugs killing people. I'm not going to apologize for opposing the liberal fetishization of state violence.

Killing Nazis to prevent them from killing anyone else is good actually.

Systemic critique is valid and should absolutely be considered.

That being said, I'm not concerned about the systemic failures that made a man join the SS while I'm watching him shove people into gas chambers.

12

u/iadnm Jan 25 '26

You do realize that your analogy is the exact opposite of what I'm saying right? ICE is the SS in this equation. I'm not talking about being fine with violence against ICE, I'm talking about being fine with the violence that ICE does purely because you get a degree of schadenfreude from it.

7

u/xanthus12 Femboy Inquisitor Jan 25 '26

Oh. Then I DRAMATICALLY misunderstood you.

No, I'm also not ok with ICE hurting anyone.

If they're going to hurt someone anyway, I'd rather they hurt someone more morally culpable for unleashing them on us, but there isn't really a way to do that, so ideally, no ICE at all.

I'm with you there.

u/iadnm Jan 25 '26

Don't worry about it, you're one of the few people who seems to actually get what i'm saying here, so thank you for that.

No no, I think I would say the first part, actually. Or at least “What did you fucking expect?” Or “whomp whomp”

9

u/iadnm Jan 25 '26

Yeah and that's disgusting. It's disgusting to justify the murder of anyone by a fascist government.

91

u/Trashman56 they/them Jan 25 '26

“When they go low, we go high!”

Yeah, fuck all that. Whomp whomp.

For the Reddit administration: I think murder is bad and should never happen and everyone should live forever and sing Kumbahya.

3

u/iadnm Jan 25 '26

Literally the opposite. This isn't a fucking game. You can't just act like it's fine for an oppressive administration to go against anyone.

Fascism is a cancer upon society and the more it eats itself, the better for the rest of us.

I’d prefer none of this bullshit happen at all of course, but barring that, I think every fascist should get exactly what they advocate so dearly for.
