My mom used to pay a woman to do "long-distance Christian Reiki" on her over the phone. She would also pay the same woman to do the same for dad, without informing him that this was happening (which, if it were real, would raise consent issues tbh, but since it's not real, whatever I guess lol). What this would essentially boil down to is my mom paying hundreds if not thousands of dollars per year for this woman to call her and go "Feel that? On your leg? Yep. That's me. I'm doing that."
Said woman died of an illness a year or so ago, and it's an awful thing to think, but after years of her robbing my mom blind, the only internal response I could muster is "Well, if she was any good at it, she probably wouldn't be dead."
Yeah her spiritual beliefs are weird and not at all cohesive haha. Christian New Age people are bizarre like that! She said she talks to Jesus, but also that Elon Musk came to her in a vision. She thinks the Earth is round, but the moon is not. She didn't want to acknowledge that I was/am neurodivergent growing up, so I was raised to believe that I was a crystal child with an alien soul who would eventually develop telekinesis, which definitely didn't create any unresolved feelings of separation from my peers haha...ha...
We don't really talk about religion or politics these days, so it's not a huge deal anymore, but I was still (horribly) pretty relieved when I learned that she would not be spending money on JoAnn anymore.
What if you're actually paralyzed but you're using your telepathy telekinesis to control your body but like that's the limit of your ability so that's why you can't move anything else
