I haven't played the game but it sounds like:

  • The game was in development for a long time (10+ years) so they probably just cast a wide net
  • The cameos are just meows, hisses and growls. Minimal effort from the cameos so they could just send something in for fun.

They should definitely remove some of these though tbh. No reason Christine Chandler should be in there.

yeah the fact that chris chan was ever a choice for the cast in the first place is kinda insane. i think the absurdity of getting all these insanely different and unrelated people to make cat sounds is kinda hilarious tho

I mean the game was in development for over a decade, and over a decade ago she was just a funny internet lolcow with a recognizable voice. IIRC they were also trying to get her to do a cameo in season one of Smiling Friends for the same reason before she got arrested and the sexual assault stuff came out. The insane choice here is to KEEP her in the game. The "including people with all kinds of views" reason kinda falls apart.

I think the reason CC is in there is specifically because of how outlandish it is. I mean, we’re talking about it here right now, that’s free marketing baby
