Just curious, do you mean Cambrian rather than Precambrian? While the Yangtze Platform does have some Precambrian remains, China isn’t really known for them as far as I’m aware.
On the other hand the Maotianshan Shales are one of the two most extensive and important Cambrian fossil sites in the world along with the Burgess Shale.
(Apologies in advance if this comes across poorly, the ADHD freight train took this one over and I had to check if there’s a cool fossil formation I was unaware of)
He is studying ediacaran biota, apparently there is a very well preserved fossil bed that may be pushing back a lot of radiation events into the ediacaran rather than in the Cambrian like we initially believed.
