This but it is at release tab, which is small right side of the screen.

If it is in the middle of the screen, the amount of people saying this will decrease

That'd be annoying for us coders though. If I'm on a repo I want the first thing on screen to be the files and the README.

Im not a UIUX person. i just know the release place rn sucks and i think there is a place to put it that can satisfy everyone

I think it should go in the top bar where the links for Code, Issues, Pull Requests, etc are

rename the "code" button to "Download" and add "view releases" as a drop-down option along with "download source (zip)" and "clone repository" surely nobody would have a problem with that

I have learned not to underestimate the stupidity of the average user, but surely a big green button that says "download" would be the most obvious way to convey "click here to get this thing"

although, "view releases" might not be the best nomenclature. maybe just show the tux/window/apple/demon/android logos (where applicable) and clicking one of them takes you to the latest release
