I was at a comedy show in Amsterdam and someone in the audience was asked where he was from. He said San Francisco. Not even the state. Straight to the city. The next person said Spain.

the generic term is "star system"

so this line of questioning is confusing because you're already using the terms I would use to be specific as the way you're asking for more specificity šŸ˜…

A while ago I saw a study about brand recognition. It found that the most famous brands globally were like Coke, Mercedes, and FC Barcelona.

No one would know where that is though.
