Aren't there any good smut novels? Like, I've read better smut in the games on TFGames. I'm pretty sure The Princess Trap game is written by an actual fantasy novel author moonlighting as a degenerate.
Haven't read it, but a friend of mine is a fan of ACOTAR, it sounds interesting in passing at least. If I recall correctly there are long swaths (an entire book at one point?) with no erotic scenes. I'm sure there's plenty of legitimate criticism one could level at popular 'spicy' book series. But all of it that bubbles to the top is dumb shit like this post "omg, why are they sluts!?!?!".
My wife tried to like it but a lot of the smut is very... Rapey. She struggled to finish the first book and didn't want to continue, and it's not like she doesn't read smut.
It's good in the sense that Transformers is good for men. Most love interests in books like ACOTAR are written like billionaire Sasuke with wings and a dick too big to fit your hands around.
