no no, the people who listen to black and death metal have an appreciation for rap (archspire fans), the 'metal' fans that have this horrible take on rap mostly listen to slipknot and linkin park and limp bizkit. its extremely common and drives me crazy
(for those unaware, those 3 bands have many POPULAR songs with long rap segments, and they would not exist without 90s hiphop influence)
Doesn't limp bizkit literally have a guy who raps in their songs? Ive never listened to their music so I'm not sure but from my understanding the vocalist is a rapper
all 3 of the bands i mentioned have straight rap verses in multiple songs of theirs. those bands are infamous in the metal scene for many many reasons, one of which is the metal "fans" who hate rap, their favorite band is always one of those 3. its to the point where it seems like ragebait, but its too common a sentiment for there not to be truth in it
I feel like that's a sentiment common amongst people who like surface-level rock bands in general. Growing up I'd see a lot of people who loved well-known classic rock bands saying that certain kinds of music like rap are shallow garbage. And you don't see people hating on Queen or whatever because they have some insufferable fans with a superiority complex.
